Hello all,

I'm new to this forum & am also an alternate. From searching this forum, the earliest that an alternate from a previous year was called was in March. We'll all have to keep our fingers crossed & wait. I'm also worried about govt funding during this recession.

Hello to all ALTERNATES, if you log on, do you now have a new students tab? I don't want to jinx myself, but I have to know if this is an indication of good news or a fluke?! I faxed them a copy of my BLS 2 days ago, so I became curious about SOLAR, & I stumbled upon the new tabs...

I have a new student tab, but I am no longer an alternate, as I received my acceptance letter 2/17. So, keep checking your mailboxes, alternates! Good news is probably on its way soon.

Thx for the heads up shadow. So... maybe one more day of keeping this all in... only my coworkers know b/c I was checking the net @ work & startled them... I haven't told anyone else b/c I'm afraid it's not real. Only thing is, I'm going away tomorrow morning & won't be able to check the mail til Monday!

Hi,

I am also on the alternate list for Stony Brook accelerated program. I am overly stressed because of all the waiting I've had to do! For you guys who have heard back with an acceptance, do they send a formal letter, phone call, email? I heard I can be waiting until the day before classes begin, UGH! Thanks.

It was a formal letter with the checklist that others have described. I got the acceptance letter about 2 weeks after i received the alternate list letter. Hang in there, I think that's a good sign for alternates. Good luck.

HI,

Did any other alternates receive an acceptance letter. I emailed student services and they said the program can contact you up until the first day of classes. Anyone receive a letter or have their solar tabs change yet? Thanks.
