Hello guys~ I m going to apply Stony brook nursing for 2015 Fall.
Is there anyone also applying?
I want to share information ^^
@sarolarn2b - Feeling so nervous. It's almost the middle of April and we haven't heard about any more interviews. It's very discouraging.
What courses did you guys take for your A&P 1 and 2 requirements? I completed HAN 201 and 202 at Stony, which is specifically for the health care field. The lab portion is taken online. At one of the info sessions I think I remember them saying that this will be the last year that they accept these courses for the requirement. If we want to reapply for next fall, then does that mean we would now need ANP 300? I know the next application process would begin at the end of this year, though. I'm confused as to whether the HAN classes would still be accepted or not.
@dl1022 looks like the only round that went out was on 2/26. My application wasn't even updated in SOLAR until 3/11, but I guess it doesn't matter now! I doubt they would accept without interview so congrats and good luck to those who were interviewed and good luck to the rest of us who have applied to other programs. I'm hoping to be accepted into the program at Queensborough, is anyone else applying there?
Yes good luck to you too!! I am already committed to the dual degree program at Molloy college. But I'm still curious about Stony Brooks program. I think it's just so competitive and cheap so everyone applies and they have more applicants then they know what to do with. I'm deforest shocked that they only had one round of interviews though. They usually do more, at least they did last year too.

I thought it seemed weird too, weirder that I feel like my application didn't get a chance considering it wasn't entered until after all emails were sent, but I guess I'm upset over something that doesn't matter at this point. QBCC has a 90% pass rate for the NCLEX compared to Stony's 85% anyway so maybe it's for the best
I've been meaning to comment on this but my phone for some reason doesn't have the option to comment. First the nastiness on here towards others is just plain mean... Be nicer we are going into a profession that deals with people so some should learn how to talk to others. Also I wanted to share that I was given an interview last year and didn't get in. I was lucky enough to receive one again this year and was told we would find out between 4-6 weeks which could be as soon as this Friday. Unfortunately if you didn't get an interview there is not another round because I asked. I am sorry to those who didn't get it because I know what it feels like to be in that position but I will say if this is the school you would love to go to then don't give up!! I took a year off and strengthened my application and re applied. Again I don't know if I will get in but I feel like I've done as much as I could. I wish everyone the best of luck in nursing school whether it is at Stony Brook or somewhere else! :)

Idk what you're problem is to be so rude to another applicant. if YOU visited the info session then you would know that its not based on GPA. People who get interviews are people who are well-rounded. NOT just a 3.6 GPA. I was interviewed for the accelerated and I had a 3.06 GPA. So you don't know what you're talking about, at all.
