Hey guys! So I just applied to the SBU Basic (2 year) program a couple of days ago. I thought it would be nice to start a forum. Feel free to ask any questions! And good luck to all who are applying!!!
While I'd love to hear by March, I believe those dates pertain to general admission, rather than nursing applicants. If you look at the application deadlines, none of them say January 7th. Also, nursing decisions are not subject to a rolling admissions process, so I think they are treated as a separate entity. Hopefully we hear back soon though, best of luck!
Hi guys! =) I applied to the Stonybrook Basic 2 year program as well a few months ago. I just found this forum so I figured I would join in! I am nervous because I do have a good GPA (althought not a 4.0) and am luckily a gifted writer and have alot of passion as to why I want to go to Stonybrook and become a nurse, but my downfall is that I do not currently go to Stonybrook! I am a sophomore student at Sacred Heart University. I hear that they usually prefer students who are already Stonybrook students. I want this more than anything and hope that even though I am a real transfer student they will consider my application just like those coming from current Stonybrook students! I really hope we don't have to wait until April or May to find out! I think this is awesome because we get to connect with other applicants who could in the future be our classmates!

I am a transfer student as well! I keep hearing that they mainly go by personal statements and recommendations. So I wouldn't worry too much about the GPA. :)
