Stony Brook Basic BSN class of 2020

Nursing Application has now opened for the Basic BSN fall 2018 program. I will be submitting my application Sept 1. I noticed there was no forum so I decided to start one... Good Luck to everyone that is applying. It is a bit early but it doesn't hurt to communicate with everyone. Has everyone finished all their pre-reqs?

Thank you so much Jared! I'll just brush up on the basics to be safe. I imagine stony brooks math classes were much, much harder than this. Congratulations on your acceptance to the accelerated program! I was actually originally going to apply but I want to try and work part time so the two year program seems like a better fit for me right now. I recently got my masters degree & was going to apply to doctoral programs when I changed my mind. Hopefully next week brings some good news!

hey, was wondering since you mentioned last year you heard back around this time (Wednesday Jan 18th) do you remember by any chance:

1) how they contacted you (email, phone-call, etc.)

2) about what time they contacted you?

been in a constant state of anxiety since i began applying to schools this past fall... would be a huge help if you remember either of those :) thanks.

Yep! It was like 2 or 3 emails at once, one from the department coordinator and two from fullslate which they use to schedule the interviews.

Congrats to all of you that got the email!! Unfortunately, based on last years experience, if you do not receive an email by tomorrow the latest, you probably did not get an interview. I know in years past (except last year) they sent out invitations in waves, but that is not longer the policy. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I would hate for you to miss other opportunities because you are waiting to hear back from SBU.

For those of you that did get an interview, time to practice your math skills! Its also a good idea to write down some possible interview questions and experiences you can pull from, that helped me alot.
