Stony brook accelerated nursing class of 2019

Published

Just wanted to start this thread to see if anyone else has applied to the 12 month accelerated nursing program at stony brook!

@soydelmote- Oh really? Whoops, I guess my calculation was off lol. I could've sworn the waves were days apart, but that makes me feel soo much better thanks!

Looking at previous forums, first wave was sent out around oct 14/15 and the second wave oct 20 and/or 21. Side note does anyone know how much tuition is for this program?

I remember reading something between $15-18K? Don't quote me on this one either.

My first choice is Columbia which is like $100K. The tuition for Stony is really leaning me towards that school. However, Columbia has always been the dream school and they really know how to open a lot of doors for you.

@soydelmonte- If you don't mind me asking, if you decide to go to Columbia, what options will you look for in order to pay for the tuition? I ask this because there's also another school I'm interested in but it's about $55K for the year and I can't even imagine paying all that off with loans. I just don't want stop myself from going to a nursing program just because of the cost.

Check your emails! I just received an email for an interview!

Still no email for me :(

@etornc Congrats!! I'll be on the look out lol.

@etornc- when did you submit your app?

*sigh* goodthing I have 7 other schools on my list LOL. This was kind of my reach school, since they receive so many applicants, but oh well! Trying to stay positive.

@jenel12006- Lol whoa 7! I feel you, I probably should've done the same- i applied to 2 other schools. Let's continue to stay positive! they're not done yet.

Haha I know right. 7 is a lot but these programs are super competitive and I really don't want to take an additional gap year being that I just graduated college, and will have to start supporting myself soon.
