Stony Brook Accelerated Nursing Class of 2016

Can we make this the official thread for The Stony Brook Accelerated Nursing Class of 2016. Let's start posting questions and suggestions here.

I don't know if it's for ABSN or traditional. And I heard it from a relative of an admissions person and a department chair (same relative). It was said in passing to my husband, so I don't know how much merit is behind it. But still interesting.

So I heard through the grapevine that SBU got 1/3 the applicants they normally do. I don't know if this was for the ABSN program or the traditional program, but I found that really interesting. Gives a little more hope.

I really hope it is true. I also heard something very similar to that (about 100 application less than last cycle) from a staff member, but it is for the traditional program. And my source is very reliable this time. He did not mention anything ab the ABSN though. But i really do hope what you heard is true as well. Crossing fingers.

The deadline for the 2 year program isn't until January, how would they know there are less applicants than last year already? If the rumor is true, it would make more sense for the accelerated program rather than the traditional.

i think he meant "as of this time" last year they already got lots of application. But let hope the rumor is true for the ABSN as well.

omg I hope its true for the one year!! That would be amazing.. but I'm so nervous. I hope we all get calls soon.

Hi, good luck to everyone applying. I applied to stonybrook, molloy, and nyu! Hope to hear back from stony and nyu soon, but the wait is killer!

Just wondering why your not anxious to hear back from Molloy too. I applied there too. SB is my first choice too. :up:

Hey Jenster,

I'm not anxious because I already heard back from molloy. I will be taking my exams for molloy next thursday. Hope you hear back from them soon! I handed all my stuff back in august, so i think thats why i heard back so soon.
