Stony Brook Accelerated Nursing Class of 2015

Published

It's almost september, which means people are starting to get their applications for nursing together real soon. I'm currently in the 1-yr nursing program here at Stony Brook. A previous alum started the 2014 thread for us, so I figured I do the same. Feel free to ask questions or message me with them. Good luck to everyone applying! :)

Has anyone that got interviewed on the 14th of November been admitted?

Does anyone know how many people get placed on the alternate list?

I interviewed on November 19th and have yet to hear anything!

Thanks for the shoe advice, guys. Glad to know sneakers will be doable!

Congrats to everyone in the "second wave" of acceptances! :)

Hey bloodorange, where did you hear no sneakers?

Hi JessW - in the student handbook, which can be found on the SBU website, there's a line stating "Shoes - clean, white and of appropriate style (no clogs, sandals or sneakers) must be worn with either white socks or hose." Glad to hear from students that the school isn't really that strict (except for the all-white part)!

Okay I got nervous I thought they were sending out info that for some reason I wasn't receiving! Congrats to everyone who was accepted I can't wait to meet you all and get started! Good luck to all who are still waiting to hear.

I've worn non white socks/ "hose" throughout clinical too. Maybe I'm a rebel? Haha. You'll be fine. And many many congratulations on getting in!! Welcome to SBU SON!!

For those of you currently in the program.. when does the program officially end for you guys??

I interviewed on nov. 11 and i haven't heard anything yet. Has anyone else heard back yet? =/

So many people from the alternate list get accepted up until the first day so you still have really good chances!!!

@GoVeg Thanks for the encouragement! I certainly hope this is the case for most if not all of those on the alternate list. Crossing my fingers for myself and everybody who haven't heard yet.

Hi All!

Congrats to all that got in. Be so proud. I didn't receive a call. I guess we all find out if we were rejected on the 31st right?

Classes end on April 18th. Then we just have capstone (clinical 3-4 times a week ) and community clinical in June. So it ends in mid June :).
