Stony Brook Accelerated Nursing Class of 2015

Published

It's almost september, which means people are starting to get their applications for nursing together real soon. I'm currently in the 1-yr nursing program here at Stony Brook. A previous alum started the 2014 thread for us, so I figured I do the same. Feel free to ask questions or message me with them. Good luck to everyone applying! :)

The requirements for the 2-year program are indeed different, and can be found here: Basic Baccalaureate Program | School of Nursing

12/31 is approaching fast and I'm really starting to believe that there isn't a 2nd wave and we just didn't get in. What a sad Christmas :(

I JUST GOT IN!! Check your emails!

Congrats!! You got the email last night (12/22)?! Also, when did you interview?

if you haven't gotten in I would just apply to the 2 year before the deadline (jan 2)

do you guys know if we can use our transcripts and recommendation letters submitted for the 1 year program for applying to the 2 year program? or do we need to re-sumbitt new transcripts and recommendation letters?

Congrats you guys got emails last night? I still didn't receive a email and nothing on solar either.

Hey everyone, I was accepted today as well!!! I received am email a little before 12 noon. I interviewed on Nov 7th. Now I can breathe!!

CONGRATS!!! to everyone who got accepted =D

@Dreamer010 I emailed student services, they said that official transcripts are not required until you get into the program. I'm assuming you can use the same letters of recommendation for both programs.

I also got in! So happy! Looking forward to see you all!

Those who graduated from this program or are in the program, can you please tell me the books you use for pathphysiology and pharmacology. Thank you!

Right now we are taking pharm and path (not pathophysiology, just pathology) in the school of medicine. The program is changing next year and you will be taking it in the school of nursing so you are likely to have different books.

Just an FYI, almost everyone, including myself, just buys old editions of the texts from amazon for like a dollar. You never ever need new editions. They are a complete waste of money and are exactly the same as the old ones minus the $100 for each book they steal from you. In fact, for many classes you will never crack open the book but I think they are nice to have as a reference. We also have all of the books online so I can give those to you as well :).
