Stony Brook School of Nursing has recently opened the undergraduate application portal for the 2021 school year. I was part of an allnurses thread for their Basic BSN program last year, and the information and support from other applicants was amazing; so I jumped on creating a thread for this cycle as soon as applications became available.
Any questions or even just casual discussion about the program is more than welcome! Can’t wait to talk to all of you. ?

I was wondering if anyone knew any information about the cost of the program? I am a little confused if it is billed on a per-credit basis or a flat tuition fee. I'm an in-state student and was trying to plan out whether I should live at home or not and a lot of that planning revolves around how much the program actually costs to attend.
Thanks!
Hi, I am graduating from the program in May and am also an in-state student. I am not exactly sure but I think Summer might get charged on a per-credit basis. Fall and Spring are definitely a flat tuition fee. These were my semester totals for the program Summer- 6949.20, fall-5186.40, and Spring-5210.90. I also recommend allowing 2-3k for books and other supplies.

It's going well thank you for asking. We have just entered finals and will be starting capstone shortly. I have enjoyed the program very much. There are a lot of faculty who are great and offer a lot of great advice and help. I am glad I did the accelerated program because it gets me out into the field earlier. I would say a con is that because the program is so short the schedule is always busy and packed. It would have been nice to have had things just slightly more spaced out. The program is doable they do have people graduate from it every year but it is up to you to manage your time and figure out how your own way of getting through the program.
I live about an hour's drive from the university. I was recently accepted off the waitlist and so I'm currently looking for a place to stay. Does anyone know any places to live around campus? Housing on campus is on the pricey side and I can't afford it. If anyone is looking for a roommate please let me know!
@nursemoooo congratulations! There is a fb group for the class, if you join, you will find other people requesting for roommates and also a group chat where we all share ideas and questions.
