Stony Brook ABSN Class of 2022

Stony Brook School of Nursing has recently opened the undergraduate application portal for the 2021 school year. I was part of an allnurses thread for their Basic BSN program last year, and the information and support from other applicants was amazing; so I jumped on creating a thread for this cycle as soon as applications became available.

Any questions or even just casual discussion about the program is more than welcome! Can’t wait to talk to all of you. ?

just give it a day or two, because I start receiving more communications few days after I paid my deposit... if you don't receive anything by Friday, I would email them. don't forget to send your official transcripts

It's under  the "For new students" tab and just make sure you're not trying to do it in the safari browser. Lots of people suggested Firefox and I had luck with that.

@srt0916 it is in solar, under new students, you'll see it... but I had trouble paying for it because the browser I was using wasnt showing the charge, I had to use firefox...

I have paid deposit and accepted admission so far.

Do you guys have any idea what's next?

Do you get any emails or follow up such as orientation, start date?

@allaboutnursesDid you get an email from them to set up your Stony Brook student email address? I had to complete some task in Solar: medical exam form and immunization, also there was an email about submitting my student photo  for my student card which we would get at the orientation I think. Did you do any of these? And I guess you already sent your official transcript?

Yes I got email about setting up Stony Brook student email and submitting photo for student ID.

For the immunization and medical exam form, did you find about it under Holds in SOLAR system?

Does anyone know what will happen with clinicals? If they are still happening as usual or changed in any way because of the pandemic?

The SON and the main university will require medical forms. They are slightly different forms and you do have to upload them to both. The SON forms you need to complete will be emailed directly to you with instructions on how to submit. You will need to pay for a service to submit your forms and have them checked off. I did not receive these forms until late April/ early May so they gave us about a month to get it all done considering we started early June. If there are required forms under solar these are most likely for the university itself. You can Google "student health services sbu" and click the first link. There should be a tab for forms and that will have the forms as well as how to submit. I would contact them if you have further questions.

I accepted my admission and set up my email and everything, however, I have not gotten anything about sending in a photo for my student ID. Does anyone know who I could email to see why I haven't gotten that yet?

so search your spams if not found, try to email them.
