STCC 2010?

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Published

Hello Everyone: I am new to this site and was wondering if anyone on here has any advice on being accepted into the STCC Nursing Program. I will be applying to the program for the fall of 2010. I am taking the pre-reqs now, but have a question regarding the HESI. Does the exam cover chemistry and physics in addition to A&P, Bio, Math, and English? I have the exam book and have been studying but wanted to make sure I study the correct subjects. Any advice would be great! Thank you.

My admission status is also displaying Nursing - "moved to student". I hope it's what i think it is........ would be nice to have the official letter in hand

I just checked mine and it also says "moved to student"...??? I'm not sure what that means.

The admission criteria is on the nursing program website..

  • Algebra 2 with a C+ grade or higher or completion of a college level math (100 level course or above) with a C+ grade or higher
  • Math for Nursing Course Description
  • HESI admissions assessment test with a minimum cumulative score of 77 or higher and all language related sections with a minimum score of 77 or higher.http://cbt.stcc.edu/hesi
  • No more than one repeated college science course within the past seven years
  • All Anatomy & Physiology courses over seven years old must be repeated
  • All college level coursework required within the Nursing curriculum with an earned grade of C+ or better

I believe they gather their pool of applicants from this criteria, and then I would assume they would pick the best applicants from that. They probably don't give you any specifics about GPA because it probably is different each year depending on their pool of applicants.

My status changed in WebAdvisor as well, and at admissions, they let me know that meant acceptance to the program!! Congrats, guys. We worked really hard to get here. Can't wait to see you in September. Looks like we have a nice little study group forming already, which will be nice. Is anyone nervous?

Congrats guys (: Let me know if you have any questions throughout your time in the nursing program!

Nervous? of course! Two years of hard work in front of us, but to get here it took a lot too. I have read in other posts that we will have orientation some time may be in May. I hope when we get our letters we will get more info for the next steps. I will concentrate on finishing my micro and a&p II with good grades for now. Sincere congradulations to everybody:hpygrp:

I just received my letter today!!! I couldn't be any more excited! :yeah:

Congratulations to everyone!!!

It didn't say anything about orientation-except to wait for the next letter from the Nursing Dept.

I got my letter today too!!!!!!!!!!!!! So excited!!!!
