I'm psyched about the Smartphone, but what exactly is it? Do we have to change phone carriers (and if so, how much will it cost)?

From my experience with cell phones, you should be able to just put the sims card from your phone to the new one and waalaa, done.

I don't know how it's going to work either. I don't think we'll have to change carriers, because she asked us which carrier we all had, and said we'd receive our phone on the first day of class. So I'm assuming if they get something like $200 per person they will get whatever phone they can get at that price at whatever company? Who knows. I am also worried about cost.. It's definitely going to be more than the plan I have now, because I will have to add internet and all that to be able to use any of the smartphone features that make it beneficial for us.....

This. I have a cheap, no-frills plan right now. But if it makes it cheaper/easier to read textbooks, it'll probably be worth the cost. Have they said what books they want to put on it?

Also, I passed summer A & P! With a B-. :)

From what I understood when I bought my smartphone is that some phones run on different wireless systems. Either GMS or CDMA. Some of those that run on gms are tmobile and cingular. While cdma is verizon, nextel, and sprint. (Don't quote me on which is which though!) So if the faculty had bought all gms, if you had sprint you wouldn't be able to pop in your sim card and use it as a phone.

As for adding on wireless internet, I'd more lean toward the possibility that they wouldn't require you to add it. Phone features "shouldn't" be used in the hospital setting anyways, so I don't see much of a reason why they would unless they wanted you to use it in the class setting. You'll have your applications, that's all you should really need.

Just to let everyone know, the uniforms are in at the book store but they won't be releasing them until next week when they receive the name badges. And they WILL be calling all of us to let us know it's ready.

The lab kits are all ready to be purchased too, I paid for mine today, it was $136.

Try entering your first name first letter and full last name all in lower case. Your password is your student ID. If this doesn't work contact them and see if they can assist
