Hi, I was just wondering if there were any other students (or alumni or instructors) from Springfield Technical Community College on here.
Oh My God, I am in shock. I just heard that my micro teacher passed away yesterday morning. I know we cant name names but I think a few of you know her and even took her class. I don't know the details yet but I hope too, soon. It's just so weird to think that she is gone.
Where did you hear this? How can we find out more? Please keep us up to date with anything you hear.
Thanks
A friend of mine, who took the course last semester too. She wasn't able to take the final due to sudden appendicitis so she took the exam on January 5th. She called yesterday to find out her grade and was told the Prof passed away the day before. I found the obit today.
I am so shocked!

OMG! Was it complications from the appendicitis? She will be missed! She was a great teacher!
Hey everyone! Congrats on getting through your first semester, I bet that feels really good!
I posted a few months back and you guys gave me a general idea of what your schedules looked like for the first semester. Do you have your schedules for the second semester? If you do, what days/hours are you in class and clinicals and such?
I'm still plugging away at my pre-reqs, but I'm getting closer!
Thanks everyone.
Hey ara876,
The spring semester consists of clinicals mondays for eight hours, and tuesdays for four hours. Day and night clinicals are still offered, and there may be an all day clinical offered, but I'm not sure.
Labs are scheduled the same as last semester ( Wednesday, thursday and friday) and they are two hours per week. Lectures the same as last semester as well (thurs and fri 10-12)
Hi here is our schedule
Lecture: Thurs-Fri 10-12, all students split into 3 groups
Lab: (Choose 1) Wed: 8-10, 10-12, 1-3, Thurs: 8-10, 12:30-2:30, or Fri: 8-10
Clinical: (assigned 1) Mon 8-12 & Tue 7-3 or Tue 8-12 & Wed 7-3, or Mon 5-9pm and Tues 3-11pm. This is med/surg but we are each also assigned 4 weeks of maternity at some point during the semester and that meets either Mon & Tues 7-1 or Thurs & Fri 4-10pm. There is also an OR observation day, but so far they have only posted a handfull of students schedules for that which is 3 students each Tuesday from 7-3 at Mercy.
We start our clinical/regular schedule the second week of school. The first week we meet Tues-Fri 8-12.
Hope this helps!
Hi everyone! I am a new member to this website and have read many prior threads. I already love the support and information that everyone is sharing. I have recently decided that STCC is where I am going to apply. I am not applying until next year with hopeful acceptance to start in the Fall of 2010. I am so nervous because I was between Capital Comm College and STCC and now I'm just going with STCC so all of my eggs are in one basket. I did look at AIC (which someone reported was easier to get into) but that is for a Bachelor's Degree. I already have my BS from UConn but have had a career change and decided to go back to school. I am so worried with all of the applicants and only so many spots. When you want something so bad and are not guaranteed it's scary. When I take the HESI I will be done with A&P1 but just starting A&P 2. I am going to buy the HESI study guide so I hope that will help. Has anyone noticed a lot of chemistry on the HESI? I haven't taken chem since high school and I just want to know if it's on the test and if it's just basic stuff that would hopefully be covered in the study guide? I know that I am going to strive for the best grades possible. Any suggestions and words of wisdom are welcomed! Thank you!!

Hope everyone is enjoying their break. I did, but I'm starting to get prepared for next semester now. Clinical schedule is up! Which I'm not too thrilled about, but oh well. Also, I heard rumors of this.....and glad it's true, well sort of.....the 202 term paper guidelines are up too in the assignments section!!! It makes me nervous just looking at it!
