starting rate of lpn?

Published

Anybody here knows what the starting rate of LPN here in AZ who doesn't have any experience?

Thanks so much!

I would guess $12-16/hour. There doesn't seem to be a lot of opportunities for LPNs, other than in extended care facilities or the VA hospitals.

I'm starting at kindred as an lpn new grad (have to take the darn test first) at $18.65/hr. That's with no benefits. I like it because it's not a nursing home, it's a hospital. Just a different type that caters to long term acute care pt's. I will be working there as a PCT until I pass my state boards and they gave me 2K sign on bonus. So not bad.

Dang, 18.65 per hour, that is pretty good!!! 2,000 sign on? Even better!! Good for you! How is it going so far?? Have you taken the boards?

So far I'm still in their classroom portion of orientation. Their orientation is *really* thourough and informative. THey tell you so much. And the nurse educator is awesome. She doesn't just throw you with any warm body on the floor for orientation, she puts you with the same preceptor for 6-8w and they have a preceptor training program too so the person knows how to train. Anyway, so far it seems like a pretty good deal, and all the nurses I'm doing orientation with have been working their registry before being hired on and they say they love it.

Anyway, no I haven't taken boards yet! I sent in my paperwork to pearsonvue and the state board over two weeks ago. I'm in the system as "pending" but I haven't received my authorization to test. I'm getting so impatient!

Hows everything going with you? I'm sorry I didn't respond to the last post you wrote me that other forum. Hows your dad? Hows your job and school going! Fill me in girl. ;)

Congratulations :balloons:

Do you happen to know how much they pay a new grad RN? I know you will do well on the NCLEX!

Hey there!

I'm not sure but if you would like the chief clinical officers DIRECT phone number she told me I am allowed to give it out to potential referrals. I also have some clinical info and their employment app online if you would like me to forward you. Just pm me!

BTW, your process for NCLEX was probably similar to mine. Once the state board has all my stuff, including all fees and my proof of education, how long before I get my ATT? I found out yesterday they finally got my proof of education. I've paid all my fees and had my fingerprints in forever. When do I get that ATT??! Man I'm dying over here. lol

I finished the classroom orientation today. 4 days worth but their nurse educator is *so* nice. This seems like the kind of place that really wants to teach, not leave anyone out to dry. I start orientation on the floor as a PCT on Monday! Nervous about that!!!

I got both my LPN and RN ATT pretty fast. I always registered online with Pearsonvue. I would get an appointment to test and electronic ATT before I ever got paper mail with the ATT.

If you registered at the Pearsonvue website, I would expect that ATT manana!

See, now your making me nervous because I am checking my email like a crazy woman and have not gotten it yet!!!

Hola!

Salary.com says between ~33k to 38k.

Here's a link to their "basic" report, I think they also give you a pic of your paycheck (with their estimated breakdown) as well:

http://swz.salary.com/salarywizard/layouthtmls/swzl_compresult_national_HC07000004.html

Typically, if you search for items like:

arizona lpn salary

arizona rn salary

arizona crna salary

etc...

You'll get the link to salary.com. Look for the one that looks like "swz.salary.com" because those are the ones that go directly to the graphs :)
