Starting pre-reqs this spring (Feb. 09)...

Published

I will be attending Los Angeles Valley College this spring and classes don't start until Feb. 09. Few of my friends told me I should take advantage of the last few weeks that I don't have school and just relax, because once it starts, there's no slowing down; on top of that, I plan to attend summer and winter sessions as well, so technically, I will not have any break in between spring and fall semesters.

I do try to relax, but find it hard to do so. I can't wait to start my pre-reqs, and I spend most of my days in front of computer researching and reading articles about the nursing programs and the healthcare industry. :typing

Anyone else going through the same thing???

Is it just me or school is surprisingly exciting especially when you know your heart:heartbeat and mind is in it???

Your friends arent kidding! I will also be doing summer and fall classes as well. No break, but its worth it because when fall semester is over I will be done with pre-reqs.

I know how you feel! I won't be starting my pre-reqs until May! I am excited and nervous and I wish I could start tomorrow.

I am debating on whether I should take A&P in the summer or wait til fall. I think waiting for the longer semester will be better. I can take Psychology and Nutrition in the summer.

Good luck to you!

I thought I was the only one ! I am a second degree student and it seems like this whole pre req phase is gona lst forever! I really wanted to get into nursing school in the fall...but i still need to take A&P II, Micor, and Patho??? this career change is a very long process!

I agree. Program brochures/artices sure make it seem like a quick process, LOL. Taking pre-reqs and waiting to hear for acceptances--it's all a long process. Then finally, once we start (for accelerated students) it's going be super fast-paced!

We just need to keep our eyes on the prize.

I felt the same way before I started nursing school. But you should relax - pre-reqs were a breeze compared to nursing school. But you will love it :redbeathe Definitely enjoy your time while you have it because once you start nursing school, your life will practically revolve around it!

It's a GOOD thing that you are invested in what you love! School is hectic but you'll need that kind of dedication to get through nursing school. I'm always interested in anything to do with nursing! If you go on you tube you can find video blogs from real nursing students and they are really great to watch!

Good luck!!
