Starting pay for no experienced LVN in any states

I know for a fact in a family practice clinic it starts at $13.87/hr, LTC $17.00/hr and at a independent GI facility $13.25/hr. But what is really weird I worked as a pharmacy technician with no school except for on the job training and made as much and having alot less responsibility. Yes I made the drugs, but I always had a double check by a pharmacist. Now as a nurse I do the work with noone double checking me and the pay stinks. I also found out that one of my girlfriends who is a RN, BSN just got offered a job in ICU for $22.50/.hr. That wasn't that impressive at all. I guess before I went into nursing I assumed that the pay was better considering the responsibility. And no I didn't go into nursing for the pay, but some places are down right cheap.

I am in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. When I was a new LVN with no experience, which was 18 months ago, I was started at about $18.50 at a local nursing home.

In Seattle area new LPN's in nursing homes make about $19-22/hr, Dr.'s offices and clinics $16-18/hr, and hospitals $17-19/hr

I work in Washington too. When I graduated in March 2007, I found that most LTC facilities pay any where from $18-25 an hour. Doc offices $14-17. Hospitals $15.50 on up.

Hi everyone!
I just want to get some information about the hourly pay for new grad or no experienced LVN. Any info for convalescent pay and hospital pay like kaiser. Thanks everyone!

I did some research for southern california and the avg salary for a LVN in San Bernardino was $58000 and $61247 in the OC and LA county was $58078 The US national avg is $48149. I cant remember if i got this info from monster or career builder. I hope there info is right because that would be a nice income. :uhoh3:

These averages are rather high, even for Southern California.

If the average RN salary for Southern California is $70,000 yearly, then the average LVN in that area is definitely not earning in the $60,000 range per year. I am a native Californian who attended an LVN program in the Los Angeles area 2 years ago. Most places in the area were paying anywhere from $15 to $25 hourly, with the average hourly rate hovering at around $19.

Read the link below. It shows the different RN salaries in each state. Even though the webpage is dated for December 2005, the info still accurately depicts today's wages. LPN/LVN salaries in Southern California do not even come close to what RNs in the same area are being paid.

I am a native Californian who attended an LVN program in the Los Angeles area 2 years ago. Most places in the area were paying anywhere from $15 to $25 hourly, with the average hourly rate hovering at around $19.

Hey i checked out your info and its from 2005. The information i got was from 2007 you should go check it out on either career builder or monster. Maybe that salary is including OT I dont really know but its what i read.

The abovementioned link is from the California labor market info website. This is an official state-operated website from 2007. The average hourly pay rate in California for LVNs is $22.48 per hour. The 25th percentile earns $19.04, the 50th percentile earns around $21.88, and the 75th percentile earns around $25.48. With these pay rates, you'd have to work plenty of overtime to reach the $60,000 range.

This particular salary survey is from March 2007, and it indicates that the national average for LPNs/LVNs is $38,000 per year.

The abovementioned link was updated on August 27, 2007. It indicates that the average LVN in Riverside earns a whopping $18.00 hourly. An $18.00 pay rate does not add up to anywhere near the $60,000 range at the end of the year, unless you are killing yourself with overtime. Realistically, it will add up to between $36,000 and $40,000.
