Congrats! Get a good night sleep every night because you will most likely come home exhausted for the first couple of weeks. Keep your textbooks at hand because you will want to refer to them. A good nursing pathophysiology book, a book on hemodynamic monitoring, and one on EKG interpretation would be good for a critical care nurse to have for reference. Ask around your unit and see what people recommend. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Don't be afraid to have people double check you on a medication or procedure before you do them.
Hope you have a great experience and find that this is the kind of work you dreamed nursing would be.

Congrats! How exciting for you. Think of your professional development occuring in stages:
Right now its fair if you dont know what you dont know
Soon, you will know you dont know
Then, you wont know how much you DO know!
And finally, you will know what you know
