Starting my last semester in the fall and nervous!!

Published

I am a senior nursing student going into my last semester and I am so nervous!! Not so much for the semester but for afterwards.. I live in NY and we just got something in the mail from my school that says its very difficult to get a job here. I work for a large health system and already kind of have an interview lined up but its for a fellowship that is extremely difficult to get into so I am not even going to count on that.... Any advice from students that have just graduated??

Don't limit yourself to the one option. Start looking at the beginning of the semester, and apply for your license halfway through the semester. The job offer I had waiting for me fell through last week (right after I got licensed), so I'm back to square one. Thankfully I was still looking *just in case*, and I have an interview Tuesday. In the meantime, I'm working my old retail job. :barf02: California is at least as rough as NY right now, especially in my area. I've applied to hundreds of jobs, but so have thousands of others with the same or more qualifications.
