Starting my journey!

Published

I start my first quarter of pre requisites on Monday and I am so excited/nervous! I was not good in school at all so I'm really going to have to work my booty off! But I WILL do it for my 2 beautiful children! :) prayers/good thoughts would be greatly appreciated . Also, if you have any advice or tips on juggling being a mommy and a full time student, that would be awesome! TIA :)

Congrats on starting school. I goofed off in high school and hadn't taken real classes in 9 years before I started my pre-reqs. I have 2 little girs (3 years old and 6 months old), and am married but I managed to get a 3.4 gpa & pass the teas the first time around. My advice to you is get organized, write out a weeks worth of assignments with due dates every week. Review notes taken in class before bed to retain more info. Also set aside a specific amount of time for your family so no one starts to feel neglected. Sorry for any errors because I'm rushing lol. Anyway, last but not least study any chance you get. I write important notes on index cards so I can stick them in my purse and study on the go. Don't be afraid to ask for help or clarification and believe in yourself; keep your end goal in mind and your kids at all times because there may be times that you may want to give up. Hard work pays off. I have no doubt you'll do good...sending prayers your way. Good luck!

What classes are you taking? I've been in school for a year, this next semester is my last of pre-requisites and I'll be applying to my program in September. I'm married and have 3 kids, work part time and school 3/4 time lol. I do most of my studying at night after everyone is asleep and maybe I can get some things read /written at work. I print off 3 calendars at the beginning of every semester, write down the due dates of all assignments, color code classes, and set reminders in my Google calendar. Studying for me had always been writing things, even if it's 2-3 times. I record my lectures for biology and listen to them when I'm driving to school, doing housework, etc so is like background noise but the info is still being absorbed. Best of luck to you!

Congrats on going back to school! Prioritization and time management! I am sure you will do great, good luck!

Thank you, ladies! I'm starting off with an English, math, and music class. Hopefully I'll get the hang of it quick. Shooting for straight A's! Ahhhh! Lol

Good luck to you! I am starting my first quarter Monday too. I am excited and nervous too. I think with hard work and dedication we will do fine. God bless you.
