Happy New Year everyone!!!

Is anyone like me starting Excelsior in 2011? My goal is to complete my ADN by June/July 2011.

I'm ready to get the ball rolling and get it done in 2011. I'm starting with H&S and then Transitions.

Best of luck to all starting school in the New Year. :)

Specializes in LTC, Sub-acute.

Since the college I attended was nationally accredited I will have to retake all Gen Ed courses by exam or CLEP =(. Looks like this will be a little longer than expected.

I will be starting the RN to BSN program this year. Any one else? I can also use some tips

Charity, I would speak to someone in admissions just to be sure. My eval showed I had to take a few Gen Ed courses that I already completed so I spoke with Admissions and they added the additional courses. No harm in asking.

Thx. Admissions was the source of the info. I even called back to speak with someone else from Admissions because sometimes you get a happier person than the first, but same response =(. I called ACE also, but the school hasn't been evaluated by them. Was your school nationally accredited?

I went to a private college so most of my credits transferred over.

I went to a private college also, but they happen to have national accreditation.

I am starting to study for H/S. Where is everyone purchasing their books from?

I just took H/S and didnt use a book to study. Purchase the Excelsior practice test, alot of those questions show up on the actual test. Also, I bought the SG101 notes and did their practice questions/tests. It is a pretty cut and dry test, you will do fine! :)

Specializes in med/surg, geriatrics, corrections.
Me too. I just got my unofficial evaluation this past week. I need 10 Elective Credits and the Nursing portion.

Very happy & excited.

Been a LPN for going on my 18th year, all in long term care.

Good Luck this year!!!

I too am a long timer.(since 1993) I have looked at Excelsior for many years and I don't know what motivated me but I finally took the forward plunge. Excelsior got my transcripts yesterday, just waiting for a review to see what they will accept. Best of luck to yoU!

Does EC accept VA LPN now?

Unfortunately that would be a negative. I also live in VA but have other plans. You will need 960 clinical hours before you can endorse into VA but if you work at a Vets hospital or for the government you don't need a VA license. I am fortunate enough that I work in corrections and don't have to worry about it. The only other option is to get licensed in another state and then endorse in after the clinical hours are sufficient.

Specializes in Dialysis.

just passed transitions with a B! 2 down, 5 to go!

I am waiting to get my eval on credits back. Can't wait to get started!
