Starting Emory nursing school for the Fall 07

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hello,

I am so excited about starting Emory nursing school in the fall. I'm coming to Georgia from Louisiana so I hope that it isn't too much of a culture shock . Is anyone else headed to Emory in the fall? Any advice about anything would be great from anyone ;) !!!!

After the first is week of school is finished, I would like to start a study group that meet a least once a week. If anyone is interested, let me know! I want to keep on top of my classes, before they get out of hand.

Hey, I want to join the study group! Please pm me.

Thanks!

Hey

I was wondering which stethoscope you got. I was looking on the web site and I have absolutely no idea which one to get.

Thanks!

look for the LITTMANN MASTER CARDIOLOGY it is on sale for 138.00 and 14.00 to get your name engraved. It comes in all colors, i priced it at the uniform store and it was 217.00 . So allheart.com is the cheapest. I am going to bring some cash with me to orientation so I can purchase the kit and BP cuffs from ESNA. I just want to get all of this spending over with. I feel like a cash cow.

fyi-You do not have to spend this much money on a top of the line stethoscope. I did because I like quality things. I don't want to get a cheap one, can't hear and end up having to purchase another one. I also went with the PDA (Palm ONE T/X with WIFI) for the reference books. Who wants to carry around more books then they have to. I purchased it new during tax free weekend 180.00 from Best Buy. If cost is your concern you can get a PDA from EBAY for any price range.

OK LADIES 2 DAYS UNTIL LIFT OFF:welcome:. Piedmont Hospital has a program called shadow nursing. You follow a nurse around for a day to see her job functions. The nurses all say that nursing school is harder than the job really is. :smiley_ab

Hello,

I read some past threads from All nurses. I love Women's Health Care and hope to be a labor and delivery nurse. I looked at the Light Weight by Littmann. I read about ten or twelve reviews about the product on a variety or web sites. I decided to go with the Breast cancer Awareness edition stethoscope of Littmann's Classic II S.E. (I also had my named engraved on it). It came in the mail a few days ago and has an extra set of ear pieces. I plan to buy a spare, but not at superstore unless they can top the prices at allheart. I will probably buy the light weight as a spare. I will buy everything else from ESNA but I want to make sure that when it comes to a stethoscope I get the most bang for my buck. I decided that a pink stethscope with my name written on it should not grow legs and walk too easily.

Who did you shadow???? Oh... I hope when school starts we all can continue to use this forum, and maybe get more of our classmates involved. Forums like ours have proven to be a valuable resource for men and women considering an Emory nursing degree.

Thanks

Oh... bought the Palm T/X also. Got it used about 5 months ago....Has anybody put there reference books on their palm yet?

I put the reference books on my PDA, but I am not sure how to work it. I plan on attending the PDA workshop.

I shadowed a nurse at Piedmont Hospital , I can't remember her name but it was in oncology.

Does anyone know if Emory has a computer lab for students to print documents?

I do believe so.

Tomorrow is the BIG day!!!!
