what is the 1st step to obtain license in hawaii

Published

Hi everyone! :)

I just recently passed my Nclex RN in the state of Hawaii.

I was wondering what will be the first step for me to be able to obtain my license? (I called several times but no one answered.)

should I send them the application for Nurse License (without exam) with the payment or should I just wait for their letter? I was wondering how long does it take upon passing the boards. since I wanted to endorse my license to another state.

Thank you so much!

I'm finding your question a little confusing, since in order to be eligible to even take the NCLEX, you would have applied to your State Board of Nursing. You don't sit for the exam at al without their permission, so.....they aleady have your application.

How long it will take for them to issue your license is up to them; if you check their website you might find your license number posted. Some States take only a day or two, others weeks.

You can always contact them directly if you feel it's being delayed for some reason.

Thanks for the reply! I just got the letter that i passed the exam.

Specializes in Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.

What state did you originally apply to be licensed in?

Specializes in Pedi.

Do you mean to obtain your actual physical license in the mail? There is no next step. If you applied to the Hawaii BON when you applied to take NCLEX, you are now licensed and will receive your license in the mail shortly.

I am licensed in hawaii. I just got the notice of licensure application form from hawaii BON and it says it will take 20 days for them to send the license card. hope the process will be smooth so that I can endorse my license to Texas asap.

I don't see why you'd need the physical license to begin that process. Most state BoNs list their licenses on their website. The requirements for licensure by endorsement in Texas are on their BoN's website.

Hello

I also want to apply for the Hawaii RN examination. but after read their website, i am a little confused. could you pls tell me some details about the application? the documents should submit, application period, etc.

Thank you!

Because hawaii is different. They will have to send u the license app form then send it back to them. After 20 days they will issue your license number. But i hope things will be smooth :)

Have your credentials evaluated by cgfns 1st. then pay $40 for the nclex RN application fee. They will approve it in 6weeks and will send you your Att.

i have not evaluated by cgfns. As a foreign applicant, hawaii told me i shoud apply the CES professional first. some documents must be submited:

1.the copy of my secondary school diploma,

2. the form "Request for Validation of License/Registration/Diploma", this form should be submited by whom, by my nursing school or the licensing authority,or both?

3.the form“Request for Academic Records/ Transcripts” and academic transcript in English submited by my nursing school. Are there some requirements about the transcript, like scores, hours, etc?

1. yes you have to submit them your diploma

2. if you are a nurse back home, you will need to download the form from the bon hawaii then send it to where you are licensed at. then they will send it to hawaii bon

3.those transcripts will be evaluated by CES.

so whenever CES is done evaluating your papers, they will send it to hawaii BON and apply the nclex RN application.
