Just curious where everyone else is with this in their program. I know the numbers will continue to drop after the first semester, and then again after the second. Seems like the the second year is when it stabilizes and the students left are in it for the long haul. We have already lost 25% of our first year. SG
We started with 58 now down to 26. That's freshmen to senior level. BSN level. Many who have failed have stuck it out and continued being a year behind. They are not with their classmates but Kudos to them for picking themselves up and moving forward. That can be a hard thing to do. Shows perserverance and I would certainly want that in a nurse who was taking care of me! It's nice to be passing but I give the returnees who don't let failure get the best of them alot of credit. Sometimes they make the best nurses! HB
We started out with 20 in our class, lost one within the first week, one after the first month, and another after the second month. All three dropped by choice, so as of now we are down to 17 with the possiblility of one failing out or being dropped due to too many missed hours which ever comes first. We only have two semesters in our course, and i hear next semester will be tougher. Hope we dont lose anymore, or we will be down to very few come graduation night. As for me I have my eyes fixed on May, and wont go down without a fight.:argue: I have put in too much hard work, time, and money to just give up. here's to all of who are still hanging tough.

I went to orientation the other day (I start in Jan.) and was surprised to hear the program director say that they were pretty liberal with second and third chances. That made me more comfortable. She also said that my school is the 9th largest producer of RNs in the country.
