St Philip's College LVN Spring 2015 Applicants!

Published

Hey guys! Turned in my application in the middle of October and am impatiently waiting for the end of the month when we find out if we made it. :)

Does anyone off the top of their head know the hours for the daytime program? I'm blanking and can't remember. Also, does anyone know how competitive the program is or what GPA they're accepting right now?

Has anyone started get there books.. And if so how much were they and wheres the best place to get them...??

Not yet. I'm waiting until we get the official word that we're in. Then I'll get the 1st semester books & pray that I get into the CoSA program so they can pay for all the other books.

I priced them at L&M. It's about $1500-$2000, buying used books and new study guides. A good 2/3 of that amount will be spent for our first semester, there's lots of books that we use for other classes in later semesters. Keep in mind, that doesn't include A&P or Lifespan/Development bc I already took those classes.

I'm not gonna get my books until I find out for sure about PQ. My final appt is on 01/12, but if I get in they'll pay for my books. Please God let me get in to PQ. 😫😩

$2000! Wow that's tuition for 1 semester. That's why I'm glad I got most of those recommended courses finished, I just have nutrition left.

I've always found Amazon to be cheaper than the bookstores here in town. I have an Amazon student account & get free 2 day shipping on everything. I'll probably order mine after orientation so I know what's needed for sure. Good luck with PQ, I'm sure you'll get in otherwise I don't think they'd be interviewing you.

I got my blue card today!!! :roflmao: :roflmao: :nurse: :bookworm:

Perfect timing! Now I can really celebrate tonight.

Happy New Year Everybody!!

I did my background check on Dec 20 & I got the blue card on Dec 31.

Did you have to register with the board of nursing?

I went through the process that the paper tells us and then it said I can't get a appointment or get registered till I register for the Texas board of nursing.

I got my books off craigslist I got around 90% of them for $200
