St Philip's College LVN Spring 2015 Applicants!

Hey guys! Turned in my application in the middle of October and am impatiently waiting for the end of the month when we find out if we made it. :)

Does anyone off the top of their head know the hours for the daytime program? I'm blanking and can't remember. Also, does anyone know how competitive the program is or what GPA they're accepting right now?

Yeah you might call them that's what happened to me I had to mail some paper in so the board could make me a profile.. Sorry I'm not much help my best friend did mine..

Yeah you probably did something wrong. I didn't have to register with the board or send anything in. I almost messed up when you're supposed to select "all others" I think I saw nurse licensing or something & almost chose that.

The board will automatically receive your info. After I registered there was a fast pass that came up online. I printed that one & the one we received from Peggy. I took both with me & I was told that one is for school, the other is for the board. My fingerprints & background were sent to both. I got the blue card from the board 10days later. It says

"Dear Prospective Nursing Student: The Texas Board of Nursing is in receipt of your Texas Department of Public Safety/FBI Criminal Background Check. Your file is clear.

Thank you for your time and cooperation with the Texas Board of Nursing."

I got my books off craigslist I got around 90% of them for $200

Really? Are they the most recent editions? I've never used Craigslist cuz of all the crazy stories about shady people who rob the people they're supposed to be selling to.

Are the books mailed to you or you meet someone & pick them up?

I priced the books on amazon & it came out to $1092 for all new books including nutrition course books. I'm gonna try Craigslist too but I thought I would let yall know before you buy at l&m or St. Philip's.

Do y'all know when there going to enroll us in classes..

I tried to do the fast pass online to make an appointment followed the steps just as instructed and it told me

"Your record was not found. We receive a nightly list of eligible applicants and you were not found on this list. If you are registered with the Board of Nursing, it may take up to 2 days for your record to appear in our system. Please try again later."

so I went online to the board of nursing there is a link that says Request for Board of Nursing - Fingerprint Card Request

so I filled that out and it told me

"Your request for Board of Nursing - Fingerprint Card, has been received and is being processed. The packet will be mailed in seven (7) to ten (10) working days and willcontain One (1) fingerprint card and instructions. Please make sure to complete allrequested information blocks on the cards and insure that the cards is signedby the appropriate persons (applicant and official). The fingerprint cardmust be submitted with your application for initial licensure and theappropriate fees."

so I'm not sure exactly how much longer to wait school is almost about to start.

you can meet where ever you feel comfortable I usually meet in parking lots of stores and with someone or I let my boyfriend go .okay and you can also try halfpricebooks or go to hpb.com

im guessing sometime next week or during orientation the school doesn't officially open till tomorrow they had a winter break

It sounds like you may have clicked nurse licensure on accident because it thinks you're applying for your license. That's why it's saying they have no record for you. The board isn't supposed to have a record for you yet, not until after you do your fingerprints. Your info is only with the school.

I wouldn't wait for the packet. Call the customer service # on the fast pass & tell them you made a mistake so they can help you.

I'm registered for 7 classes/15hrs but I need to drop the growth & development since I've already taken it.

I'm not yet.. How does your schedule look?? From what time to what time.. does it look crazy I'm kinda nervous to get mine!!
