St pete college fall 2013

Published

Hello,

I have read previous posts on here over the last few months regarding admission to SPC's AS Nursing program. I applied for the fall 2013 semester. Are there any applicants out there who also applied? I am playing the waiting game. Do any previous applicants know how long it takes to hear if you are accepted or not, once the application window closes? Thank you:)

Thanks for your response RNS2B_2013!

There seems to be too many terms that I am not familiar with lol...

But regarding the readings that the syllabus suggest for each unit, is anyone following that? It seems to be kind of misguiding on what it wants us to know.

Oh and should we even study the powerpoints since we only need to know the objectives?

If anyone doesn't mind me asking what was your GPA when you got into the program?

Is that an over all gpa or just science? Im doing my classes now and have about two semesters left debating on retaking comp1 because I made a C.

I am having a really hard time finding an environmental nursing diagnosis for the personal wellness paper, maybe Im not understanding. I mean theres not a diagnosis for wanting to recycle or save gas etc..Maybe someone can clear this up for me..Thanks!

Has anybody started the Fall 2013 or starting the Spring 2014 LPN to RN path? Or already graduated? I wanted to know the experience and I sent a email to the DON and was told that the evening program is off in the summer so the 3 semesters really takes a year and a semester to finish completely?

I hope all of you who are in nursing I are doing well. I start January 2014. I read through all of the pages. Could any of you please let me what the choices for clinical sites are and when do you find out whether you are day or night session? I have about a million questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hey Icujnel7,

congrats on getting into the program!

Regarding your questions, unless they're changing the process for the incoming level I class, we selected whether we wanted day or night and from there, we selected which clinical site we wanted. The night choices were VA, Healthsouth & Ed White Hospital. The day group had St Anthony's, Northside, Morton plant (and some others i can't remember).

What they are implementing now is that if you are within a certain hospital group (baycare, hca) you will stay within that group for the upcoming semesters. Also, the school will be handling the registration for us from this point forward. Although, i am not sure how they are handling it for incoming level I students.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

When did you select day or night?

And thank you by the way. I am getting nervous:(

You're welcome.

I'm doing the night program. I chose it because it goes through summer, so we finish a semester earlier than the day program would since they only go fall & spring semesters.

When did u actually pick night? I have no clue what I have. Orientation is nov 21t. Do you choose at orientation?
