St. Paul's School of Nursing - Spring 2015

Published

Hey everyone, I'm new to the site.

I've recently taken the HESI at SPSON, I got an overall 91%. I'm planning to go to the evening classes if I get accepted. The next step is the interview with the President of the school? Anyone else applying to SPSON?

St. Paul's is NOT NLN Accredited. A membership and accreditation are not the same things. For accredited programs you have to check the ACEN website. If NLN accreditation is of utmost importance to you, I suggest you look into another school. We are not even in the process of becoming NLN accredited. We are only ABHES accredited, and that might only apply to the Medical Assistant program, I'm not sure.

Hello Everyone

Today I went to the information session and the admissions office women told us that the pre requisite for general education has to be a C+ and higher and it has to be within four years for the science classes it has to be B and higher and that has to be within two years. I asked about once a student graduates how is the transition to the BSN program and her answer was vague she said they have a accreditation with empire school. the program if you do not have all the pre-requisite it costs total of 46,000 but if you do have the pre requisite then it will cost less. the cost per credit it is $609.00. also this year it will be 18 months program that is what she told us. any question you can message me

I was told the same. Are you applying for the May or August semester?

Yay I got accepted!

Eva 87 why are you so pessimistic? Saint Paul's been in business for years and every time i come across your comment you have something negative to say. Just focus on the now get your associates get your license and then continue your journey. If this school is bothering you why apply if you're afraid this will happen and you don't want to pay so much and the school might get shut down etc. There are four year colleges that will accept saint Paul's credits just call them up and ask and get all the negative thoughts out your mind. Focus on getting through this nursing program while calling up future schools that you want to go to and ask. You'll be ok stop worrying or you're mind will just fill you up with all kinds of negative scenarios.

How was your interview? And when did u do your test?

St. Pauls is not for everyone, honestly if you're not seroius as in do what ever it take to pass your classes, clinicals, and the nclex then this not for you. St. Pauls will test your knowlede in a way you would never think and it opens up your mind to a new way to thinking. To succed im this cousre you have to be focused, diligent, and seroius about what you want. THe school is making the passing grade now 80 or higher and fail of lower than a 80, this a good in the sense that you have the necessary knowledge to pass the nclex after you graduate and peform well in the clinical field. The teachers are caring and will help outside of class and make sure you undersand the work byt also as student most of learnig at he end of the day falls back on you! SPSON will not spoon feed you info in class and you WILL have to read the book. Do as many pre reqs outside of here since that will help you during the semster and also help with tuition costs. Completeing a good portion of pre reqs at a community college beforing applying and coming here is your best bet at not being overwhelmed during the semester. PLan ahaead before applying and gear your mind and life towards what you want to complete because once you're in here, it consumes a lot of your time and energy!! Best of luck with applying and never forget: it is never impposible and time flies by with great classmates and teachers! Satrted Aug 2014 finsihing April 2016 :)))

The reason why at the time I was so worried about this school is because I received a lot of negative feedback from former and current students. However, most of the students who started the year before I did, said that my class and every class that starts after us, is pretty lucky. Not only do we graduate in a smaller amount of time, but the school is slowly getting a hang on things. I have really enjoyed the program so far. Of course there are some things and policies I would change but overall I am very grateful for the opportunity I have been given. This is what I wanted the most for a very long time and I wanted to make sure I was making the right decision with this school. So far everything is good and I am happy to be attending. Good luck to all who are starting this fall, If you have questions or concerns don't hesitate to ask.

I am applying for August I have to contact them

I was told the same. Are you applying for the May or August semester?
