  1. classes start at 4:30. I would suggest you change your work schedule to leave at 3:30 depending on where you work and travel time to get to class on time.
  2. Hi I would like to know how much do Nurse Practitioners make in NYC? is it the same as a RN? I hear some NP's making 200-300k a year, is this possible? if so, how?
  3. any new salary updates now that we are in 2017?
  4. Hi when you say one term do you mean 3 months? if so, how were you able to finish that workload so fast?
  5. @kimburleeeeee Hi I sent you a PM. Not sure if you have the ability to respond..
  6. Hi I was wondering which online programs would allow me to complete my RN-BSN fast or in one semester? I already have a bachelor's degree in psychology and currently in a program obtaining an Associates degree. I have so many credits under my belt so I assume it shouldn't take me too long to obtain my BSN. I've saw some people on the boards finish Chamberlain's RN-BSN program in 3 months.
  7. Sorry to hear this. I find it weird that they couldn't hire you considering you are an employee but then again NYMH is acquired by Presbyterian which is known for not hiring any ASN's. Have you tried Jersey hospitals? and Lenox Hill? Lenox Hill job postings say as long as you're enrolled in a bsn program you are eligible for hire. I would say stick with being at NYMH until you obtain your BSN. How much longer do you have to go?
  8. Congrats on your job offer! Do they hire new grads? I'm obtaining my adn right now and fear I won't be able to get a job anywhere. 87k is not bad at all! BTW I just finished my first clinical rotation and doing peds/med surg for the fall semester. Do you know if places will hire me as a CNA considering I completed my first clinical rotation? I would like to get some experience until I graduate next year. Congrats again!
  9. CLUVRN Congrats!!! Did you already have a bachelor's degree? I have a bachelor's degree and obtaining my Associates right now (graduation date AUG 2017). Do you think it will take me less than 6 months to obtain my BSN? Also, Do you suggest becoming obtaining a MSN, DNP, or FNP degree? I've seen on this website some nurses stating that obtaining a NP degree is a waste of time since you get the same salary or less than a RN.
  10. You could try Mount Sinai and Jamaica hospital and I also heard hospitals in NJ hire ADNs. The best bet is to be enrolled in a BSN program. A lot of hospitals are trying to acquire magnet status. I heard it's hard to obtain a hospital job but it's definitely not impossible. If you end up having any luck please let me know. I will graduate next year with an Associates as well. Good luck!
  11. Is this 89,500 base pay during the day? As well as the OR offer?
  12. $44-$45 an hour
  13. The critical thinking test is just to see where your strengths and weaknesses are for the NCLEX exam. Don't worry about it too much.
  14. I hope you get the job. I don't see why you wouldn't get hired, at the end of the day you're a registered nurse and have 5 years of experience! They just need you to have the BSN status because they're a magnet hospital. All freaking politics and so silly. I feel like if we all sit for the same darn test we all deserve the equal opportunity to be considered for the job as long as ADNs plan to obtain their BSN within 1 year of hire. Good luck to you!
