St Pauls School of Nursing 2010 Acceptance

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hey, has anyone else received an acceptance letter for the spring 2010 semester? :D

If you are planning on moving to Jersey you can not go to that school. I'm sorry to tell you that...the first thing the woman told me that it is credited by new york state ONLY....the NLN accreditation would make it possible for you to move anywhere but they are not nationally accredited only in new york.

For the love of god, will you please stop saying this?

New Jersey grants reciprocity to RNs from *ANY* other state of the United States, long as they hold a vaild license from their home state, subject to certain laws regarding criminal history and so forth. NLNAC apporoval of whatever school one graduated from DOES NOT MATTER. If you do not believe me, go to NJ's BON and read the rules and regs regarding nursing practice and licensure: http://www.njconsumeraffairs.gov/nursing/

I defy you to find one mention of NLN school approval required to obtain or hold a NJ RN license.

This is a copy from my post on the last thread...

I am not putting trying to put the school down in any way believe me, that was not the reason for my post. I went and got an application because I wanted to attend the school. I asked them if they were NLN certified and when they said they were only New York Regent certified only, I just wanted to find out what exactly that meant which is why I called the New York Nurses Association, and in my original post I left the number that I called simply so others could inquire for themselves as well. After being told that it means that upon graduation it means you are certified in New York ONLY (which is what I was told by the nurses association) I just thought others should know because if I was attending a school and someone else knew some information I would want to know as well. I am sure they are a good school, once again I am not trying to put the school down, but I was simply stating what I was told and that information might be useful to others in regards to the school. Correct, I don't know the facts about what NLN certification which is why I made the call and if others have any questions regarding this, I posted the number in my previous post just so they could get information and ask any questions they might have. It would be ashame for someone to spend all that money, get their nursing degree only to find out they might have hardships in the future working out of state or obtaining their BA because the school they went to was not NLN certified. I thank you too for your information because I don't know too much about this stuff and I will continue to look it as well, as I encourage others to do so as well. I hope you are correct with everything you say because I honestly want to attend the school, as it is only minutes from my home, and the other schools that I applied to, Farmingdale and Nassau are extremely competitive to get into which is the reason I am looking into this school to begin with.

Ewe07 - Don't be nervous but just look into this. Call the NY nurses association, or any other place you might have to call just to get the facts straight. I honestly only know what I was told not much more. Honestly don't take any *advice* from anyone on here because you don't know who might be on here working for the school and telling you the things you want to hear. Make the phone calls and get all the info you need because like I said before it would be a shame for anyone to waste their time or money and have a problem at some point down the line. Hopefully dogoodthengo is correct and everything is fine because I want to go to the school too but until I make a few more phone calls and hear for myself from other schools, the NLN and hospitals I am not making a move yet to apply. I will look more into this as you should too.

Nurses earn a Bachelor of Nursing Science degree (BSN), not BA (Bachelor of Arts).

I'm not going to keep going back and forth with this trying to prove myself right...I know what I was told. You must obviously work for the school or something. I am not trying to put the school down, just passing along information that I leaned from the NY Nurses Association which I feel is better than advice from anyone on allnurses.com because on here we really dont know who is who. I will not be responding to this thread anymore my last words on this issue are this: I SERIOUSLY URGE ANYONE LOOKING TO ATTEND OR ATTENDING THIS SCHOOL TO CALL THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF NURSES, THE NEW YORK NURSES ASSOCIATIONS AND WHOEVER ELSE YOU COULD GET INFO FROM ABOUT THIS SCHOOL AND TELL THEM THAT THE SCHOOL IS NOT NLN CERTIFIED AND SEE WHAT THEY TELL YOU. It would be a shame to throw your money and time away!

Hey Kuklara, I am also going to st. pauls this month to get an application. Did they interview you at all? Or just showed you the school, they told me come in for an application and interview.

Hey Ewe, I Just showed up at the school and asked for an application. They gave me one and I left. I Have it next to me and half of it is still filled out. I am going to complete it by this weekend and bring it back. I hope what Dogoodthengo is saying is the truth. I am going to call the human resourse department at hospitals near me and call Adelphi and other schools I will consider in the future to get my BAchelors from and see what they have to say in regards to admittance into their BAchelors program with an associates from a non NLN school. Hopefully it is all good news. From what I did see it looked very big to me....it is the 4th floor of a big building, but the thing that really caught my eye was how clean everything looked.

kuklara--thats interesting, hmm. Does the application give you NET exam dates by any chance?

Nope...It says I will get a letter with exam dates on it as soon as they receive my application. I am just finishing up the essay part

Hello.........I am sorry to bother you. But can you tell me how much of a deposit they require. I've been reading posts and some people have mentioned a deposit after they have been accepted. I am applying for the Fall Semester of 2010 and have an appointment on Friday to take a preadmission screening exam. I just want to try to have everything I need in case I do get accepted. Thank you in advance for your advice.

It's not a bother I just started the January 10 class and it is a $500. non refundable deposit BUT it is deducted in your tuition I hope this helps :)

Hey guys,

Did anyone go for an interview at the school yet for the Fall 2010 admission? I have mine in a few days, and i don't know what to expect, I heard they got rid of the NET exam and are just basing the admission process on the interview..unless that's just a rumor. Has anyone gone yet?
