well great!!! how long did you have to wait for your date. i have been going out of my mind cause i want to test in rancine but hubby wants me to test in plano. i have just heard horror stories about that site but also know it is how you approach the whole thing too....
well great!!! how long did you have to wait for your date. ..
i applied in sept. they called about 2 days ago, so 3 months. they asked me if i wanted to test in january!!! would have, but we just moved, am trying to get a new job, etc...can only take so much stress
i originally applied for albany, but they didn't have anything available till the end of march. not that it makes any difference to me, don't think it really matters...let me take that back, when i applied, although we were living in ms at that time, i knew i didn't want ga...the passing rate was very
hang in there...they're going to call you! be prepared!
ps: i kept sending them e-mails (almost every 2-3 wks), asking when when when

Congrats on getting a date!
I haven't even started EC yet and I am already nervous about the CPNE.
Please keep us informed as to how you are preparing and of course give us the scoop once it's all over.
Good luck!

Congrats on your date and best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
is there anyway i could go about finding the pass rates for each site. so looks like you got in fairly quick compared to what i have been hearing. i will apply in jan and just go from there i guess. do you have the opportunity to list several sites to test at .

you can only pick one. i thought you've applied already and was waiting on a date...don't know why i thought that.
don't know about how to "officially" find the passing rate for each site (hmmm...maybe excelsior should post this kind of info on their website, for research purposes, no other reason;))...there were a few nurses who worked at the same hospital where i worked and went through excelsior and so i tried to pick their brain and get all the info i could...that's how i knew about ga. things might have changed, i don't know...that's why i'm trying to find something, anything about my test site...

i really believe that those who don't pass yell louder than those that do pass....so many of the horror stories are just that (stories at best)! all the sites are fairly equal....my friend tested in racine and failed only one pcs...another passed in ny....and i passed in atlanta (all in the same time frame). we compared our experiences and they were similar. the one guy in my group was totally unprepared and we all knew he was going down...and when he did he posted all over the study groups how unfair it all was but he didn't even know his ce's! duh!!! you are right it is how you approach it...and from the looks of it i doubt you will go in unprepared--so don't worry about the site (know your stuff)!!!! you can do it!!!!

Best to focus on what you can control: the steps of the labs and your knowledge of the critical elements. Any clinical examiner can have a bad day, but all the worrying in the world won't change that - and there are mechanisms in place to address those issues.

wow, i agree with you for the most part. i used to think the same way, it's just stories...this is just an example, i have more, but it's not the time or the place : my best and dearest friend, a LPN with many years of experience failed hers because she was very nervous...and i think when this happens, they should at least try to alleviate your anxiety, not to make it worse...just my opinion...i personally believe they're not there to fail me or anybody for that matter, but unfortunately some of the "stories" are true.
