Hello everyone, I am new allnurses.com. I am glad to see that there is a site where I can communicate with nurses from all over. I have a question. I recently applied to St joseph Hospital school of nursing located at 8th girard ave in philadelphia, PA. It is an accelerated one year RN program. I am somewhat concerned because I don't know much about the school. They don't even have a website. I wm currently working on prequisites to start the program in november. It is fairly new and just opened up about three years ago. I would love to get the input of someone that knows about the program or has graduated from it...thanks a lot.
I found the website www.sjhson.org for St Joseph Nursing School in Philadelphia, Pa . You can download an application.
For all who are interested in the st jospehs nursing program on girard ave I just vistited with them today (10/30/08. The school has been moved to 8th and girard avenue. Yes, like a few of the other stated it seems abit disorganized. I spoke with Bill Deane who is the coordinator. I asked question such as the dates of the program which has been changed from October to October and now it is January to January. The next class is January 09. I will not be able to start until january 2010. It is full days from 7-4 or 5pm. The cost is $23,000. They only take 60 students per year. The application is $150.00. You must complete 39 credits prior to entering the program. Website is www.sjhson.org . I asked the NCLEX passing rate they told me it is has been low. But I think that if you are constantly reviewing for the test and attend NCLEX prep then you will be fine. Hope this helps.
