    WCU Accelerated BSN, any thoughts?

Wow everyone! Orientation is almost here!! I am so excited! I can't wait to meet all of you on Wednesday!
  2. Just wanted to share some info...I have a 2.9 GPA in undergrad, about 3.0 in my prequisites and I have applied to three nursing schools and accepted to every one. Don't let people discourage you because of your gpa, it's not the greatest but it doesn't mean that you would have a hard time getting in nursing school. My strategy was to apply only to 2nd degree programs where there is less competition. It is true most traditional nursing programs and community colleges are extremely hard to get into to, but with 2nd degree programs the applicant pool is smaller and less competitive. Your bachelors degree will be your ticket into nursing school...I know very well because it was mine..GOOD LUCK!!!

    WCU Accelerated BSN, any thoughts?

I completed my 09-10 application march of last year because I thought I would be going attending a different school. I eventually switched everything to west chester. I just don't think it is fair that I would need to come out of pocket or get a private loan when I have stafford loans available to assist me. Especially when I need to come up with the money in a matter of days...

    WCU Accelerated BSN, any thoughts?

is everyone aware that there's a possibility that financial aid may not package our summer aid in time? I was told that I would need to cover summer 1 out of pocket in the event that they can't get it done in time. I currently have a financial hold on my account and in danger of having my classes dropped. Is anyone else having this issue?

Recommendations for Second Degree BSN Programs

I recently submitted my application for west chester. From what I hear ALL prequisites must be completd at the time of application. I guess you could take your prequisites at west chester, but you would save a lot of money if you would take them at your local community college...Just have to make sure you enroll in you A&P classes as soon as they become available they close quickly. My friend has been trying to get into A&P at dccc for 2 semesters now...She told me that the class closed 2 days after it opened!

    Drexel University ACE Spring 2010

Wow this information is really scarey!!! You mean to tell me that all of the work and thousands of dollars you invest a drexel nursing degree you can fail just just from tenths of a point....Wow...I am supposed to go to drexel this spring, but I am now giving it some serious consideration. there is no way possible can I afford to take out 50,000 in student loans work hard to pass my classes and not pass the hesi!...Yeah I really got some serious thinking to do!

Recommendations for Second Degree BSN Programs

Hi Hiddencat, I was wondering if you had any more info on this scholarship that was offered by the Univ of Pa health system. I was due to start the program this fall but was unable to secure any funding. I rolled my admission over until the spring, but is still unsure if I would even get it then....If this could be a back up plan that would be great!!any info would be appreciated thanks!
  9. Hi I was wondering if anyone knows much about the West Chester Advance 2 BSN program. I am due to start Drexel Univ ace program this coming spring but is unsure whether I will secure the money to do so. I was told that the west chester program was much cheaper and the schedule allowed for students to hold a job. Just trying to get any info about this program thanks!

    09-10 hrsa nursing scholarship

Thanks Khervey, I appreciate you calling. You are right about the hrsa reps they are very non-chalant. I had a problem with logging in about a month ago. I thought I had put the wrong password in and called HRSA and got it reset. Now since other people are complaining about logging in Im not sure if it was something I did or not. Oh Well.... hang in there guys we'll know very soon!

One other thing. Would anyone that is unable to log in be willing to call in to hrsa and ask why they have been locked out of their account?

I have a possible solution to why everyone credit was not checked. My thinking is that they randomly checked credit.Maybe every 3rd application...etc. That's what many organizations do because it's cost effective. It does not make much sense that the people who's credit was checked are the only ones in the running when they JUST started doing rankings and many people who have not had their credit checked are in the first funding preference. By the way I had my credit checked and I can still log in.
