looking forward to meeting new people. :D

Thanks Zee!! :o)

Hi Yana, I appled to UCF Accelerated and didnt get in, and then got waitlisted for UCF Fall, however the Nursing Directors at UCF have to recommend certain people to apply to program for Valencia-UCF Concurrent, so you need to apply to UCF first, and then if you dont get into UCF direct BSN program but ur scores are really good, then they will send u an application for concurrent program and then select certain percentage of those who applied for concurrent

For the first sememster of the UCF side, does anyone know or recommend what chapters out of Jarvis Health & Assessment would be good to read prior to the first day of classes? Thanks!

Monica

Hi guys, I just accepted in to the SSC/UCF Spring 2012 program and was wondering if anyone could tell me where the UCF nursing classes are held? I've heard they are mostly online, but I am trying to figure out where I should do my UCF orientation? Thanks!!!

Congratulations MommyK :yeah:

First semester of UCF are done in person in the Altamonte SSC campus.

Second semester UCF will be a mix of online and a few classes in person, also at ALT.

After that they are all online.

I did my UCF orientation online.

Since you are going to be using the ALT campus, you should see a section to do the

orientation online.

I just was provisionally accepted for the UCF-SSC concurrent program for Spring 2012! Yeah! Are any of you planning on working while going to school? Or for those of you already in the program - are you able to work?

Thank you.

I started on Spring 2011. I'm not working.

First semester is hard to work, because the schedule changes week by week, although many people did manage to work around it.

2nd semester schedule was pretty stable with 3 day in a row of class/clinical, thus you should be able to work.

3rd semester - School is also 3 days in a row, but it gets harder. Ped's class takes a lot of reading, memorizing, studying... etc.

Some people are working, but you can tell they are suffering because they always 'look' worn out.

Also note that their 'evening classes' are not evening anymore. Last semester evening classes started at 3pm and ended around 7pm.

This semester they made an exception and classes go from 2pm - 8:30pm (but, they are aiming to end all classes by 7pm from now on). Hope that helps :D

BTW. Congrats!!!! ;)

Thank you for the info Red Carnation. That was very helpful. Yes I will be one of the "worn" students  It's good to get an idea of what to expect from people who are going through it now, so thank you.

I heard the first two semesters are the hardest? Is this true

I am applying to the fall 2012... How much should I have saved for the first semester

can you tell me the name of your teacher you took for bls

I found these photos, I'm wondering if we are doing anything like this...!! It (shown in pictures) was also supposed to be a team building exercise! I wouldn't mind...but it has been cold lately!!

Anyhow, yay I'm so excited!! I just got home from my last exam a couple hours ago, and already I need to get ready or get to bed for tomorrow. I will be going with my black sweatpants. I too would prefer jeans, but I don't think that goes along with athletic attire. I am hoping that some of the outside parts might be moved to indoors. Not a fan of cold weather, but I'm sure I'll enjoy the experience whatever it might be!!:p

I'm not sure what top I'll be wearing. I'm sure I'll be wearing multiple layers though and a coat or at least sweater. I'll stop in at the cafe also to look for you all! It's not a huge cafe, but there can be a good number of people there...do you all want to meet more in the back (near where the mounted tv is)? at one of those tables? We might just otherwise blend right in..I've only met one of you so far (RedCarnation)! Also I probably won't stay down at the cafe too long before 8, want to go get a good seat @ orientation.

I better get going....see you soon!!!!!!!!!! :D:):redpinkhe
