Howdy everybody I'm pretty new here but I was wondering if there was anybody applying to the MANE programs for 2016? I sent out my applications last wednesday to NHCC and ARCC(hoping to get into ARCC in coonrapids) with composite scores of 11.67 and 11.42. I was told that the 11.42 is a good score to have at ARCC. But its so hard to know for sure!
I'm waking up somtimes freaking out that I forgot to add something to my application, or that I got the address wrong or that I spelled my own last name wrong. Then I have my coffee and turn on SNL to calm me down xD(its pretty ridiculous I know). Good luck to all of you. Hope you are not freaking out like me over everything related to the program till July 15th.
I got accepted at NHCC with a composite score of 11.4!! My GPA for the 4 classes is 4.0 and I got a 74% on my TEAS. Sooo relieved, I can finally take a breather!!!
I'm confused when Jbrown0112 says he/she was put on the "reconsider list" with the same score as me. What is a reconisder list? I am assuming I must have scored higher on the science/math sections? I got a 76% in science and totally bombed the math section (ended up running out of time for THREE PAGES!!!) but still managed to get in the upper 60's I believe. So I'm having a hard time figuring out what Jbrown0112 was put on the "reconsider list" when quite frankly my science/math scores weren't all that great.
Either way, I'm just so happy to get in. Now I'm nervous about working full-time, going to school full-time and raising my 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 year old. Anybody else in the same boat as me, or similar? I need some encouragement!!! I'm thinking about cutting back on my hours to 32/week once the program starts in Jan. All of my generals are completed, so I will strictly be taking "nursing" classes. But I'm still nervous it will be too much?
Any insight is appreciated!!
CONGRATS TO EVERYONE THAT GOT IN!! NOW TIME TO ENJOY THE REST OF OUR SUMMER!! WOO HOO!!!
If two students have the same composite score, the student with the higher science score is the one accepted. It is quite possible your science score was higher and that is why you were accepted. The best advice I can give you is find a person in the class ahead of you and use them as a mentor. Often they will give great advice, and helpful hints.
I heard back from NHCC at the end of April. I didnt hear back from Century until much later. With both programs the initial people accepted had until April 1st to reply. Then from their they figure out who said yes or no and go back to the wait list and invite. At NHCC and most programs there are only 35 spots, with my application group at NHCC there was over 350 who qualified to be considered. They pick 35 for day and 35 for night usually.
Okay I see that I messed up both of my calculations for my composite score. It actually is 10.81. I am pretty sure that I will not be getting into the program with that score but I am going to keep moving forward because eventually I will be getting into a nursing program. Congratulations to everyone that got accepted into a nursing program.
I was put on the reconsider list for NHCC with an 11.4 :-( so depressing does anyone know how many people are put on the reconsider list? I have a friend in the nursing program at north hennepin who said she knew a handful of people thay were accepted and originally on the reconsider list
Seeing that someone got in with the same score as you, you won't be waiting for long!
Hello! I just found this forum a few days ago and am finding it to be very informative! I applied to Century, NHCC and IHCC. I didn't get into NHCC or IHCC but was wait listed at Century. My scores at NHCC and IHCC were 10.75 (GPA 3.0 and TEAS 75.3) but Century was 10.96 (GPA 3.43 and TEAS 75.3).
Was anyone else wait listed for Century? What was your score there?
I was told that after admitting the first 72 applicants, they invited the next 45 to be placed on the wait list. I am crossing my fingers that I will get in... eventually!!! :)
Good luck and Congrats to all of you!

I was wait listed with a 11.33 last semester at NHCC. I eventually got in, I think it also depends on the program you apply to. I know the average GPA for my admission group was 3.71 with a TEAS of 83. They actually went to the wait list for night program to fill the day program. I am assuming the wait list scores for the night program were higher, so they took those candidates. I was also wait listed at Century last semester and got in there, but opted not to attend. My score was a little lower there due to different classes considered for the core group. On average, there is about 10-15 people on the wait list. They wont tell you where you rank unfortunately. I called and asked many times. It is a waiting game. Another option is Minneapolis Community and Technical College. They do offer a night program if that is what you want. However, they are quite strict on admissions. They do give preferential treatment to CNAs and LPNs. Might be worth checking out if that is what you are after.
