I've decided to make this page for anyone applying for the Spring 2019 ADN program at Lone Star CF/K. I'm so nervous and it's still kinda far away! Good luck!
Hi you guys - i am not part of the spring 2019 applicants but I plan on applying for the fall. Can you guys give me any tips / advice to make the process smoother? And also- the rubric score sheet- is that a set standard on who gets in or do they look at other factors too??
Hi! I was accepted into CF for Spring of 2019. I hope that my advise can help make your process smoother:)
First, have you taken the HESI yet? I would suggest taking it ASAP that way if you do end up failing it then you have time to retake it before the application deadline. Also, I would go over all of the "post admissions requirements" on the LSC nursing website. I did this and I'm glad I did because I had to submit a declaratory order which took a year to process. If you have had any criminal charges against you then you will need to file a petition for a declaratory order to the board of nursing, and if they approve you then you will get a letter in the mail. Also, I would start on your titers and make sure you have immunity to all the vaccines you need and if you don't, then start the vaccination series immediately. Again, all of the info for the vaccines are on the pre/post admission requirements online.
And the score sheet is a set standard. They look at nothing else unless you're tied for the last spot, then I think they look at who had the higher scores for A&P...I think. Not so sure on that one. But yes...they literally just place the scores in numerical order and choose the first 40 or 80 depending on which campus you apply to.
Hey guys, how long did it take to get your. cpr cards???
From what my instructor told me they no longer give paper cards, only e cards. So it should be immediately. I got mine in my email before I even left the building. Make sure you're taking the bls for healthcare providers class and not the regular cpr class.
My flu shot document got rejected because they said they needed some time of written/stamped/typed proof that my shot was from the 2018-2019 batch. Did this happen to anyone else?
It didn't happen to me and I happen to have a lot of shots given at work. Who did you go through? And if you want I can email you a copy of what mine looks like. I don't want you to miss the deadline. I hear that castlebranch are taking a while to approve documents. Let me know how I can be of help.
