I got in too! WE MADE IT! Will be seeing you there!
And now we are back to the bummer part. The hospital I work at now is not willing to let me off my weekend rotation for clinicals. I need the insurance this job provides, not to mention they are paying for school. So much for wanting their employees to further their education. now what:sniff:

See you all in the spring. Congrats violet and jenn.
I will be praying that everything works out for you so you can participate in the program jenn.
Thanks Bluff City. I may be looking for a Starbucks to work at!

Congratulations to you both!!! It feels good to know that you guys are as excited as I am :-)
Jenn- that's terrible- I really hope you can work something out. I've heard of so many people who have had problems with hospital employers not wanting to accommadate employees going back to school...even the places that have excellent tuition programs and like to emphasize the importance of continuing education for employees, etc, etc. I don't know why they make it so difficult-
They are for sure making it hard. Maybe when we pick up our packets I will find out more about days I can work. Its my weekend rotation that is getting in the way. Its only 4 hours! and they wont let it go! Im not giving up yet!
I am supposed to go and sign my acceptance letter today. I was so excited I didnt ask where to go other than I know I go to Union Campus. Can anyone tell me? I cant get thru on the phone now!
Did you guys go pick up your packet and sign your acceptance letters? My clinicals will be on Saturday and my work rotation is on Sunday os everything worked out! Im so excited now I cant wait!

Good luck guys! I am just finishing my first semester at southwest. Remember this feeling and how hard you worked to get to this point cause when you are in the program tons of people get burned out and drop out ( we started with 60 and this week we only had about 45 left). You can do it (and make As and Bs) if you work hard and know that you are not going to do anything but study. Get in the habit to do something every single night. If you get in that rotation you will be golden. Don't get down when it gets hard. Good luck y'all! Welcome to the program.
P.S. get a printer cause they make you print EVERYTHING (no handouts) and get yourself a good daily calendar to write everything down (lots of dates and things to remember that they only say once and will not repeat)
GOOD LUCK!!
Thanks so much for the advice! I cant wait!
I know we have to have our physical (my appt is tomorrow), and CPR certification (doing that saturday) and background check (I did the mybackgroundcheck.com one) all before orientation- does anyone know anything about the drug test? Does that have to be done and get the results before the 7th too? or just have it done before classes start? After paying for all the other stuff, I am seriously broke until my excess financial aid check comes in. Anyone know how much it costs?
