I love that my wife works opposite shifts as me. It means I can sleep in peace every day

Married for just under 20 years... We laughed out loud reading this together!

That was fracking hilarious because I tell my husband that when I get in bed I stretch out and sleep DIAGONALLY! His reply, "that's ok, my gassy butt already warmed it up for you."

 :roflmao:

haha this made my day, you guys are silly! :D And somehow imagined what our lives as a husband and wife would look like in the near future :D I'm also happy to read some of your posts that you managed to survive as a couple while working on different shifts :)

My husband & I work opposite shifts, too. We both love that we get the queen bed to ourselves while the other is at work. When he's on vacation for a week, it drives me nuts! He always seems to be in my way & it totally disrupts my routine!

We also have a cat who loves sleeping with both of us. She sleeps with him all night, gets fed when he gets up, and wants to go back to bed with me the minute I walk in the door (1/2 hour after she gets up!). She sits upstairs on the bed & howls until I get ready to go to bed.

He gets home around 5 & I don't leave for work until 9:30 so we still have our evenings together.

"Out of curiosity, where are you from? You used the word 'orientating' rather than the American (abomination) 'orienting'."

Over in the part of the US where I am, we use "orientating" also ;)

I using orienting. Orientating clangs on my ears. Guess its all about where you're from

No, it's about speaking properly! It clangs because the "tating" doesn't belong!

Not hijacking this and as has been said this has been done in other areas but......

You are correct, it IS about speaking properly and as we are using ENGLISH I as a Brit have priority and OUR pronunciation is right. :cheeky::yes:
