SPC Spring 2019

Published

I've been active on a different thread for people who applied to St. Petersburg College's Nursing program starting in August 2018. I made it on the alternate list (still completing Microbiology-finals tomorrow!), but have decided, with the help of an HEC advisor, not to accept if I get offered a last minute seat based on the fact that my only options for clinicals will be whatever no one else wanted. She said I'll definitely be accepted for January and will have top choice of clinicals/instructors, so I'm happy waiting another four months to start. Who else is applying for the Spring 2019 program?

I was actually thinking of getting one of those clipboards! I would be surprised if it was required, though. I'd be interested in buying the books from you, Holly, once I get notice of acceptance and a shopping list. :)

We're definitely not the same scrub size though haha

Ok just let me know when you get in if you could somehow send me your name privately idk it that's possible on here and I could message you through Facebook. Really want to sell them to someone who really needs the books and is worried about finances, but I will be selling them half price as much as I wish I could give them away for free. Thank you !

So I just realized that I don't think there's a way to transfer my online access codes for simchart and the two elsevier adaptive quizzing. Those together would cost $338 at the bookstore. I also believe new editions of the textbooks may come out so I'll have to wait and see. :( just don't want to sell you short. I will sell them for $300 all together given you still have to buy all those access codes. Last semester you could get the elsevier package $700 includes all elsevier books and online codes . And found the rest of the books on Amazon or book store. Usually totals out to be about $1000. So with my used books and purchasing code should separately from bookstore would only be about 700. So would be saving $300.

Definitely still want to sell my scrubs though, I will sell those half price ($100 for 4 sets medium size only lightly worn, with a medium jacket (only one that's dress code approved- also an under shirt, both never worn) .i have a white coat penlight and BP cuff I can throw in there too.

I might take those scrubs off your hands if I can still fit the mediums. I bought one set a few months ago just because I knew I would be there eventually. They're mediums but now I'm not sure if they still fit. Lol. I try them tonight and get back to you.

Yeah I'm helping to support my older parents at the moment, so saving money wherever I can during nursing school is critical.

I'm not sure if I can send pms here with the relative freshness of my account. I sent you a friend request as well, which might enable the feature. Otherwise my email is cedouglass and it's at gmail.com (not typing it out normally so it won't get scraped by bots).

they still fit! Would you be willing to sell two sets of scrubs for $50 so somebody else can get the great price on the other two? I don't think I really need five sets since class is only four days a week-I can get by with three total and already have that one. Can you email me @gmail.com? It's 727aniki. (Without the period). I learned that from asmo so no bots get my email address.

I'm interested in the other two scrub sets. Can you email me my email is @gmail.com? Chicklette1801 I'm copying off Alexis and asmo so I don't get bots.

What clipboard thing are you guys talking about?

Yes! I'll send you an email.

Amazon.com : WhiteCoat Clipboard- Wine - Nursing Edition : Office Products they have a bunch of different colors. It's not a requirement just really useful for clinicals (which don't start til a few weeks after the program starts (I think ours was not til the 7th week or something) . Also to let you all know the books are so much, that its almost impossible to carry them on your back, I recommend a rolling backpack of some sort. I would always keep one on my back with my light items and heavy books and laptop in my rolling backpack. Brand I got was High Sierra. The big crate things are good to keep your books in the trunk (mine from Office Depot) but is NOT very nice to roll around and mine cracked when I tried bc it was so heavy. I kept it in trunk.

That's great info, thanks Holly! I already got the rolling box and will plan on keeping it in my trunk to old whatever books I'm not using for a particular class day. I got a rolling bag from the Gibbs campus bookstore last year. I kind of hate it because it's bucket-like (no compartments), but I have a nice High Sierra backpack that I'll carry for lighter items. When you email me I'll just give you my number or email me yours. It'll be easier to meet up for scrub sale

I emailed you three :) thanks ! Let me know if you didn't receive it .
