I've been active on a different thread for people who applied to St. Petersburg College's Nursing program starting in August 2018. I made it on the alternate list (still completing Microbiology-finals tomorrow!), but have decided, with the help of an HEC advisor, not to accept if I get offered a last minute seat based on the fact that my only options for clinicals will be whatever no one else wanted. She said I'll definitely be accepted for January and will have top choice of clinicals/instructors, so I'm happy waiting another four months to start. Who else is applying for the Spring 2019 program?
Hello all I just withdrawed from Level 1 as of today was the withdraw date. I wish you all good luck! I just changed my career decision. If anyone's looking to buy 4 pairs of lightly used scrubs size Medium (worn them for 10 weeks, and rotated each one) and if you have the same books , if your interested in buying any of those I have them all and bought all brand new. Fundamentals book will have a lot of highlighting in it and the fundamentals workbook is filled out a couple pages only, same with Castillo critical thinking workbook. I'll offer all of them together for half the price of the bookstore price . When you all hear back let me know whoever's interested I'd like to help someone who really needs it. Reply on here and I'll send my email to you. I also will sell my nursing clipboard with which was like 30$ on amazon.
For those of you that went to the meeting about the program recently when did they say they would have the notices for acceptance out by ?
November 1. And they will trickle out all day. I applied for fall too and didn't get mine until 5:30 pm and some of my friends heard hours before that
So if we get accepted which program does everyone want to attend? Night or day?
I'm going for days because I'm a big time morning person and am not generally accustomed to doing school related activities (or staying awake very often-lol) past 10pm. Also, I want to have the summers to work my ass off and save money
That's definitely understandable, a majority of the population (I didn't want to group everyone together) learns better in the AM. Are you working right now Alexis?
Yes I currently work fri-sun at a nursing home as a CNA 5:45am-2:15pm, but I just got hired today at a home health agency so will be able to work as much or as little as I want and not always feel like I'm racing against the clock of mealtimes and barely spending any time with the people in my care. I'm actually drafting my resignation letter right now! Lol. I also tutor A & P and Microbiology at the downtown and midtown campuses of SPC, a job that I will give up during the semesters of nursing school but pick back up during the summers
That's awesome! That seems like an awesome work schedule too. I didn't get my CNA, I figured after level 1 I can apply at baycare in the ER. That's if level 2 isn't as bad as I've heard. Congratulations on the new job too. Jamie Leboeuf the tutor at gibbs for AP always told me to tutor, I just worked too much.

I prefer night classes, it's quicker with it only being a year and a half. The only thing is pharm over summer is brutal from what I've heard. I'm prepared for no social life though lol. Only a couple of weeks left.
