SPC Spring 2019

Published

I've been active on a different thread for people who applied to St. Petersburg College's Nursing program starting in August 2018. I made it on the alternate list (still completing Microbiology-finals tomorrow!), but have decided, with the help of an HEC advisor, not to accept if I get offered a last minute seat based on the fact that my only options for clinicals will be whatever no one else wanted. She said I'll definitely be accepted for January and will have top choice of clinicals/instructors, so I'm happy waiting another four months to start. Who else is applying for the Spring 2019 program?

Question about the titers. If I got titers done at the end of 2017 to volunteer at a children's hospital within the baycare system can I use those results plus my current flu vaccine for this year? Do I half to go get all new titers done?

Ask Kathy. She's responded to all three of my emails within less than 24 hours each. [email protected]

I remember seeing in a thread from last semester that castlebranch kept rejecting people's flu vaccines. Now I just got mine rejected. It said thank you for your submission but you must send a flu vaccination record dated after 7/5/18. Mine was dated 10/8/18. I changed it to a different type of file and resubmitted it, with the date circled. I'm not sure why it was rejected

Did your status on MySPC get updated as Nursing? I did not get updated yet.

I've been running around getting drug tested and fingerprinted all day when I wasn't in class and now I'm at work-haven't had a chance to check. I'm tutoring at DT campus now though so it's probably going to be slow so I can check soon. I'm curious to see

I have done the drug test and fingerprint. I think it may take some time to get updated as nursing in MySPC.

Where will my status say be updated? It still says Associate in Science Health Sciences

Cool I'll meet too...I'm a female and I'll be wearing scrubs, I have to go to work after!

Right, I guess it will take some time. check for it tomorrow.

Yeah today is probably only 1 1/2 business days. Tomorrow should be good. I heard back from Kathy Boylson about the checklist having overdue dates and saying Fall 2018. She said castlebranch is behind resetting it and go ahead and submit whatever we have and it will be fine when they update

Also, I was told if you haven't completely finished the HepB vaccination series (it's 3 shot series over a six month period), go ahead and sign the declination form and submit that, then you can update it when you have a positive titer reading at any point during the program

Thanks! I'm emailing her now.
