I've been active on a different thread for people who applied to St. Petersburg College's Nursing program starting in August 2018. I made it on the alternate list (still completing Microbiology-finals tomorrow!), but have decided, with the help of an HEC advisor, not to accept if I get offered a last minute seat based on the fact that my only options for clinicals will be whatever no one else wanted. She said I'll definitely be accepted for January and will have top choice of clinicals/instructors, so I'm happy waiting another four months to start. Who else is applying for the Spring 2019 program?
You determine what if you want day or evening schedule by choosing the top clinical times you want right? Is there another way to let them know you want Day or Night classes?
Nope that's it...just rank whichever ones you don't want at the bottom of the list, then on the next question you can exclude them completely but I would be careful of excluding things unless you have a 4.0 and all credits complete. They assign choice clinical sites based on your standing in the accepted applicants, and if the only sites that still have room by the time they get to you are the ones that you excluded they will not put you in for spring. Also, if anyone wants help figuring all this stuff out, search for the SPC Fall 2018 thread on here and scroll back to June 28. That was notification day and you will see a lot of the questions we have, but they're already answered. The dates are also helpful in giving us an idea of timeline.
Yes but that puts me way down on the list for choices where I shouldn't be correct ?
Unfortunately that is true. Not quite as far down as I was, and another thing is you are likely to get your notification before the date they gave you as notification for alternates. Last semester the alternates with lower numbers were notified before July 23. I even remember somebody saying they went in and talked to an advisor in a similar situation you're in, and when they got there, already enough people had declined for the advisor to put them in right on the spot. I have faith in you Leon! Just get there as early as you can tomorrow or Monday and try to talk to Tammy
Wow! Trying to book my fingerprinting appointment and the only location inSt Pete doesn't have any availability until Dec 31!
Yeah it was pretty startling. I've scheduled a fingerprint for the 12th way out in Clearwater. Thankfully I have a week off coming up. I also get to experience the joy of a 6:30 AM pee test before work next week lol

Yeah that's rough. I've gotta drive out to Clearwater Monday between class and work. I'm hoping to do the drug test tomorrow but it was too late to call LabCorp by the time I was able to really sit down and look at all this stuff. I'll have to call them on my lunch break and see if I can come in after. I wanna get this show on the road.
It says they also use your GPA to choose the clinical sites. The castle branch list is what has me baffled.
What about it specifically? Mine's weird because for some reason, above the immunizations, it says Fall 2018, and all the due dates for each one are 8/13 and instead of saying "incomplete" like the drug testing and fingerprint requirements, it says "overdue" next to all of them. But other than that, I got the first part of the to do list figured out. So next to my drug test it says "registered" and the top two of the four fingerprint requirements say complete. I printed out the document from the first fingerprint requirement and literally highlighted each line of instructions as I completed them step by step for the second requirement
I was talking about the fall 2018 part. I wonder if they didn't reset it, I have my appointment for finger printing on Monday, my background check is underway, I'm taking my Bls cert this weekend also. I'm going to try and get my immunizations Monday as well.
Oh okay! I was wondering if the fall 2018 thing was just me or everybody. In July when I was offered a last minute alternate slot I sent my letter of intent indicating that I did not wish to proceed and they still sent me an email telling me all about orientation. I figured it was just a glitch in mine. Kind of relieved to see it's not just me. I sent an email to Kathy Boylson regarding that issue. She's the liaison between castle branch and SPC students. But I plan on contacting castle branch Monday as well

According to a similar thread I was following in July when I applied for August, some people had their schedule given to them within a week. I spoke with an advisor today-not Tammy unfortunately-and she said registration happens at orientation but we should know our schedules before that
