SPC Nursing Fall 2018

U.S.A. Florida

Hey Everyone!

Thought I would be the first person to start a SPC Nursing Fall 2018 thread. Even though we still have one semester left before applying, I thought I would start a thread to get the ball rolling and to see where everyone stands. If are applying for the program in Fall of 2018, please let us know the amount of credits you will have at the time of applying and what your cumulative and program GPA's are. As for me, I will have 30 of 30 credits completed and a cumulative GPA of 3.9, with a program GPA of 4.0.

I have a problem and I need advice. So, this semester I decided to take 3 classes. One of them being college algebra. I'm okay in math, it's just tedious and takes up a lot of my time. This summer has been crazy and I've been so busy and my sister was in the hospital. I've barely been getting my assignments in on time and definitely not giving myself enough time to study to do well in math. I got a C on the first two tests and today, I couldn't finish the third test so I have an F for this test. My homework, mid term and reviews were all good grades but these tests are dragging my grade down. I had so much anxiety taking the test because there wasnt enough time. I left work early tonight to take it. I'm just wondering if I should just fail out of this class and retake it the semester after nursing school? I could try for a C but I don't want that on my transcript. I know if I take it during a regular semester I would get an A. I'm just swamped with assignments, work, and home issues. I'm really disappointed in myself.

Have an advisor call you and discuss it with them.

I did and she said, "what do you want me to do? That's a personal choice." I guess I wanted to know how it works and what other choices I had. I e-mailed my teacher and I'm still waiting on her reply. Just wasn't sure if anyone here has ever thought about this. I'm just hoping my teacher is able to work with me.

As long as it doesn't affect your admission GPA who cares. Maybe wait to hear if you are in the ADN program before thinking about dropping anything. If you need reapply next semester you don't want a withdrawal hurting your chances. But not really sure......

It doesn't affect anything for getting admitted to the program. I do need it for my BSN though.

Crisis averted. She gave me an extension.

I really do not care for the advisors. They all have a chip on their shoulders.

Yeah, I did not like this one. She made me more worried lol. There are a couple that are good, but the one I spoke to will definitely not be someone I ever speak to again.

I've always had really nasty advisors. I've even got up and told them that I would no longer speak to them. LOL!

That's really sad.

Has anyone heard anything yet, either way? I was thinking that they may notify people that did not get in earlier than they notify the alternates and the people that for sure get in.
