SPC Nursing Fall 2018

Published

Hey Everyone!

Thought I would be the first person to start a SPC Nursing Fall 2018 thread. Even though we still have one semester left before applying, I thought I would start a thread to get the ball rolling and to see where everyone stands. If are applying for the program in Fall of 2018, please let us know the amount of credits you will have at the time of applying and what your cumulative and program GPA's are. As for me, I will have 30 of 30 credits completed and a cumulative GPA of 3.9, with a program GPA of 4.0.

I hope everyone enjoyed orientation! And enjoy the last few weeks before school begins :)

Oh hey! I didn't see you, but of course there were tons of people there. I'm getting excited, but nervous at the same time. I'm going to be taking those workshops.. I already signed up.

Congrats!! and wishing everyone goodluck! I'm currently in level 3. The program goes by super fast! I will be starting level 4 in August. Let me know if anyone would like to meet up during break or message me- willing to share my experience / thoughts about the program / give advice to be successful. The first semester is the hardest.

Sounds great! I would be interested.

That would be awesome! Are you in the evening program?

ddeburger, Molly and I sat in the front. We saw you but you were sitting in the back and we left right after it was over. We wanted to have lunch and then we went back to get our IDs. I still need to get my books and skills kit. I'll do that next week. I'm getting nervous too!

Yes, the evening program has summer classes. Will have about a 3 week break before starting level 4

How was the summer semester? I'm doing nights too.

Oh okay, there was just too many people. I did see a few people from A&P I, II, and Micro, but really didn't recognize anyone else. Lol!! I'm just going to relax these next few weeks because once we start, there's no looking back! Lol!!

Yeah, I'm actually going to read a book of my choice. I'm super excited about that lol

The summer semester went by really fast. 1 day on campus and 3 days at clinical. It's only 10 weeks. There will be 2 weeks when clinical is 4 times a week (psych clinical on Friday 2x). The last 6 weeks there was at least 1 exam every Monday. There were a few Mondays when we had to take 2-3 exams. On top of finding time to study had to do 3 care plans, 2 IPAs and other random assignments/papers worth 0 points. All of the assignments are Satisfactory / Unsatisfactory. Normally many people will get U's and have to edit and resubmit these time consuming assignments.

It seemed like a lot and impossible at times, but really it wasn't that bad. The level 3 instructors are amazing and very straightforward. For level 1 and 2 the information wasn't clearly presented, have to read EVERYTHING!

I hear ya! I don't know what to do with myself since my classes for summer ended already. Guess it will be Netflix!
