SPC Fall 2019

Published

Hey, everyone! I've been looking for a thread about fall applications for SPC Nursing program, but nothing yet! It may be early, since the application period just started on March 1st, but here we go! I applied as soon as it opened , and I'm crossing my fingers until the July 1st. Anyone else applied or planning to do it soon? Let me know your thoughts and plans, we are all together in this one ? .

I actually heard they take note of people who always go to these seminars and workshops, so I’ll always do my best to go, I hope a lot of us make it.

Was it posted on mycourses for you or did your professor send an email? I’m not seeing anything yet ?

My professor sent an email

There was an email sent by instructors all together so it goes to all the Nursing I students. Check the my courses email. If you didn’t get it, shoot me your student email here and I’ll forward it to you

How do you know all of this!? Lol

I saw it’s merged email for all students, Mrs Lutocka sent it but CC’d all the other clinical instructors. Was your email only from your teacher or all of them together? Maybe they sent it in groups based on clinical sites, idk. Anyways, I’m excited to start reading something ?

Me to!

It looked like the email was sent from only Pels but she mentioned 3 other professors that I would have.

Also NIP just printed this out today:

While they do have you sign in with your student number for the workshops and extra learning opportunities - it’s not for any extra credit or anything like that. No points will be given for attending. It does help you study and hopefully get better grades. The sign in helps them determine what workshops are needed and which ones are not. So don’t feel bad if you have other commitments or work or family obligations that get in the way of them. They are there if you want to use them.

Get ready guys - its going to be a crazy fun ride.

For anyone still needing uniforms- Scrubs n stuff has ours on sale buy one piece get the next at 40% off! I bought 4 sets for $168.55...this is for the new style they just went to...they have SOME of the old style in store for 50% off...BUT they couldn’t say if the old style will still be accepted at the school (I’m betting it probably would be, but didnt want to take a chance. And the new style is softer and feels like it won’t be as hot as regular scrubs if you know what I mean)....btw, I went to the Tyrone store for the sale

The shirts are not 40% off. I tried.

She said it was a mistake.

Pants and jackets are buy one get one 40%

Yea that is a bit misleading reference the shirts....I do remember her telling me the pants were but not the shirts. Not sure why I didn’t question that...still a good price though!

can anyone tell me how much were the books and supplies in total???

only at the bookstore( like the books and skills kit? ) I dont know if there was something else that we needed to buy.

All together book, skills kit and ATI is about $1100. And then we need blood pressure cuff, pen light, stethoscope and black ball pen for charts. Plus uniform and shoes. So all together you are looking at $1500 probably
