I just thought I would start a thread for those who are applying to SWIC for Summer 2016. I have taken all my courses at other universities and I already have a Bachelor's but my courses will transfer. However, I need to take Medical Terminology and Sociology over winter break to get the 4 points in the Gen Ed section. For the Chem/Algebra/Bio section, I will have 9 or 10/12 pts depending on the grade I get in my Stats course I'm currently taking. I don't have any healthcare experience so no points there. So hopefully, if I can get the maximum pts on the Pre-Nursing Exam, I will have 21 or 22 pts..this is my goal at least. Just want to find out where others are in the application process...

What is the isbn number for the DET book do you k is?

I purchased the DET study guide book from Barnes & Noble. I have submitted my application for Summer 2017. I am taking the DET mid January.

Can you sign up for the test yet? One of the ladies from swic mentioned getting infor after the first of the year but I didn't know of that was right.

BBAAM- I'm right there with you! I missed the program last year by 1 point. I bought my DET book yesterday (think I pitched the first one lol)...will be taking the test before March.

You can call and make your appointment to test now. Yesterday was the first day to do it.

I, too, am taking the DET this month. I missed the program last summer by one point. Fingers crossed that we all get in this year. 😊👍

How was the det test? I'm so worried about the test but I'm trying to keep calm because getting in relay on this test. Was it 16 to get in last year?

Yes, it was 16 last year. Normally I think it's between 17-18. The math on the DET is easy, lots of basic algebra. No calculators allowed, just scratch paper.

The English was the worse part of the test. A lot of vocab, reading comprehension...the English was the tough part of me.

How many pts do you have going into the DET? I'm at 14.

I only have 11 like you started with the last time :( that's why I'm so nervous. I think I'm most upset because I had a point lower in math because I was told I had to retake it because my grade was too old and when I did and got a B this go round and I had an A. Well with that being said I found out from the counselor after I took the class that they changed the rules and it didn't matter the time frame you took the class so not only did I pay to retake it I ended up with a letter grade lower downing me an extra point in the application :(. Hello everyone. I also applied for the summer 2017. I take my test in March. Im nervous and excited at the same time. I really hope I can get in. Im so ready to get this done and over with. If i don' t get accept, I plan to go to Lutheran.

I took my DET exam yesterday. I got 6 out of 8 points. English is difficult but Math wasn't bad. I will be at 21 points now. Good luck everyone!!
