Southwestern College ADN 2016

Published

Hello All,

I wanted to start this thread for those fellow applicants that applied for the Southwestern Community College Fall 2016 ADN Program. Not sure If this is a little late but I have yet to receive my notification regarding being invited or not for the program. As you can probably assume, I am extremely nervous right now and have been ever since I submitted my application. I've been in contact with Martha over there and she informed me that they were currently showing attention to the Step-Up program and they should be completed by this week. After completing their portion, the remainder of the letter will be sent out.

Has any one been offered a spot in the ADN program for the fall 2016 cohort yet?

Oh!! haha yeah you are older than me @leighannquismo !! How did you become an LVN at 21! impressive!

@leighannquismo I still don't understand how LVN-RN works. Does that mean you will be joining ADN cohort on their second year? So for a whole year LVN-ADN will just be waiting?

@thatperson I got my LVN at 20 ^_^ those programs are only one year. But really expensive! Haha. If I get admitted then I would be joining this summer, at the second year with the cohort that started last year. So I would be finishing next year. I just mailed my app out today. So nerve-wrecking!

Ohhh!! did you like go to kaplan? or brightwood? I was going to do that right out of high school but my mom forced me not to due to the cost of it. lol. My best friend got hers at 19 too and now shes 22 and shes ADON at one of the facilities! I regret not getting it lmao. I only got my CNA at 19. @leighannquismo

Hi guys!

I applied to SWC and San Diego city college. I just recently received my acceptance letter for San Diego city college nursing program and I am so happy and grateful and also wasn't expecting it because I had more points at swc (74pts) than at city (70pts.) However I am just curious if any of you have any background knowledge in either of the programs? Like I said I am grateful I got into at least one but I want to have the best experience possible in the nursing program so with that being said do any of you know which program is "better" in terms of good professors etc.?

I know the program is all what you make it but if anyone has any background knowledge or have friends in the programs and have heard their feedback that would be nice to know (:

Thanks!

@charlie86 congrats! omg I wanted to go to City but missed the deadline :( I have 82 points for city had I made the deadline

Hi @thatperson I live less than a mile from the college =]

They do spring to right don't worry your getting in! You will have choices

@brandyP OMG you're so lucky. I wish I lived close to SWC :( Grossmont is the closest to me at 19 miles haha.

I only have 73 points don't worry

Did you also apply to City college? Im sure you have a good chance for swc and city anyways!

Application due tomorrow~!!!! WAITING BEGINS!!
