Southwestern College ADN 2016

Published

Hello All,

I wanted to start this thread for those fellow applicants that applied for the Southwestern Community College Fall 2016 ADN Program. Not sure If this is a little late but I have yet to receive my notification regarding being invited or not for the program. As you can probably assume, I am extremely nervous right now and have been ever since I submitted my application. I've been in contact with Martha over there and she informed me that they were currently showing attention to the Step-Up program and they should be completed by this week. After completing their portion, the remainder of the letter will be sent out.

Has any one been offered a spot in the ADN program for the fall 2016 cohort yet?

@jacjacjac Oh nice! I like how they go through everything before you leave so they can tell you what else you need! let the waiting begin!!

Good luck you guys :) man I have to mail my app so no one will be going over it with me :crying2: guess I'll have to triple check before I send it off! LOL.

I appreciate that they look over the packet right then and there. Good luck everyone! Keeping my fingers crossed

Make sure everything is stamped on the immunization form and by that I mean in each every shot you have they will ask you to restamp for a shot even if the page has a stamp it's a stamp per immunization shot.

How many points jacjacjac

@brandyP I estimated my points at 74. I read through this thread and people are saying 75 and above was what was accepted before. :\ How many points for you?

@jacjacjac I think your points are good enough!

I live 30 miles away from Southwestern nursing program.

Palomar is 20 miles.

Miracosta is 27 miles

Grossmont college is 20 miles

I really think that I have a good chance at southwestern! but it is sooo far! I mean we only go to school what 3-4 days? But 60 miles back and forth is a lot. Do you guys know what is a competitive points for palomar? or grossmont! I have about 82-83 points i think, hopefully.

I have 73 :/ @jacjacjac

Your points are strong for all the schools your going to have multiple options

@thatperson I'm not sure what Grossmont is. I'd like to know too because I'm going to apply there too! I believe the classes for SWC are going to be at 8100 Gigantic St., so that's about 28 miles away from where I live. Grossmont is 19 miles away from me and it is where I did all of my prerequisites. The distance isn't a bother for either school for me. As long as I'm in a program, I'm happy! :)

@brandyP I hope the points are strong enough too. Hoping for the best for everyone this application period!

@jacjacjac I see! Did you get everything you needed for grossmont's apps?

@brandyP how far do you live from southwestern? I guess it shouldn't be a bother since this is a career that I am working on haha. I feel like I might be one of the youngest if I get in! I just turned 21

@thatperson wow I just turned 21 last July :) I'm sad that you guys are the ones I've been communicating most with but won't be in your cohort :( hopefully we all get in & I can see you all on campus! That would be awesome.
