Southwestern College ADN Fall 2020

Published

Hey guys. Making this for those who are applying to SWC’s (Chula Vista, CA) ADN program for Fall 2020. Application period starts soon (November 4)! Write your questions to help each other out throughout the application period. If you want, post the amount of points you have in the point system.

Here’s the amount of points I have

Associates Degree - 5 points

CNA Certification - 25 points

Science Prereq GPA - 30 points (4.0 GPA)

”Fixed Set” GPA - 8 points (3.9 GPA)

Life Experience - 3 points

Language - 3 points (Spanish, documented proficiency)

TEAS test - 15-22 points ... I still need to take the TEAS. I want to give myself enough time!

So that puts me at 89-96/100 points.

Years of hard work into one packet... and now we wait.

Good luck to you all. You guys got this.

UPDATE: Took my TEAS and scored lower than an 85 :(. That puts me at 89 points.

STORY: I went to SDSU to take my TEAS. Only been to the SDSU’s Track and Field roof when I was running for SWC prior to the TEAS.

OMG I was so lost lol. I got out the 8 trying to look for parking 1. I turned right and that took me all the way around the campus. At some point I was about 1.5 mi from campus (West).

I basically took a loop around campus... parking 1 was right in front of my face when I got out of the 8 to College Ave. That was easily 30 min of being lost lol/ left my house at 11 am.........

I feel like that stressed me out. I was scoring 80s on the practice exams.

I’m so nervous, I have about 81 points depending on if they accept all the life points. Even if they don’t I should be high 70s and I hope that is enough to get in. I’m applying to other schools but this is my main one.

Hey you’re not the only one. I didn’t do so hot on the TEAS so I’m approximately at 76 points too, hoping for the best!

Wishing the best for us! ?

@HopefulXxxx I also have 81 if they accept all the life points, if not I will be between 76 to 78. :S This is my second time applying so hopefully I get in.

How many points did you apply with before?

@Alexis Ebalo I also have somewhere in the mid-70s too. Super nervous but thinking positive!

Your scores are great! I got lost going to the office to submit my application. The blocked off Airway and my gps had me driving in circles forever. So yeah, that must've been super stressful!

@Mperine96, I had like 71, did not have my Associates back then, but wanted to give it a shot lol

Congrats on getting your Associates Degree!!

Hi everyone! I just dropped off my application! The lady at the front desk said we should hear back mid April! I’m already eager to hear back.

Did you guys apply anyway else? City or Grossmont?
