Southwestern College ADN Fall 2019

Hi everyone! I’m starting this thread so we can share our application criteria points with each other! I just turned in my application today. I have between 85 and 88 points. I have 3 B’s on my science prerequisites :((, 4.0 gpa for all the general Ed courses. I have fluency in Spanish, an associates degree, CNA, and volunteer experience. I scored an 88 on my TEAS! I hope they can look past my grades in my prerequisite courses and I get in!!! I hope we all get into this cohort! Good luck everyone

I have this constant feeling of nausea, waiting in anticipation.

I really am wondering what the cut off will be this year. Very nervous.

Well there goes another day. I have a feeling we will hear Wednesday or Thursday but I hope they dont push it back again!!!!

I really don't know if they would push it back again.... That would be pretty bad. But it's looking like that may happen at this point...

Yea, they used the word "anticipate" so they really dont know if they will he able to get through them this week. I'm sure they will not hesitate to push it another week to make sure they look at all applications throughly, which I'm not too mad at. If I'm one of those applications that still need to be viewed I'll welcome the wait. Lol

So true... Also, all the other people that applied and were accepted to other schools, have likely firmed up their plans, so will hopefully decline when they are notified... At least that's my hope. I would hate to be that alternate that finds out 2 days before class starts.

Yea, hopefully with southwestern taking so long people that wanted to go with southwestern might just go with grossmont because of the long wait. Idk how long people have to accept a spot in a cohort. But it's been about a month since grossmont has announced their acceptances.

It would suck to be the last alternate but I'm sure I would be happy to just get in and not have to reapply.

I think 81-83 points. What about you?

I think at the very least, I have an 88.

I only have about 76... Like 1, maybe 2 life points, no languages :(.

3.0 science gpa (but I did minor in chemistry, although they don't look at anything aside from the criteria).

3.8 or something pre recs

82% teas

That's why I'm almost positive I will be an alternate... At least I hope
