Southwestern College ADN Fall 2017

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi everyone! I thought I'd start a whole new topic for those who applied to Southwestern's Fall 2017 cohort. This is the first time I've applied for a nursing program, so I am very excited and nervous of whats to come. I'm curious to see the amount of points you have totaled so I know what I'm up against. I totaled my points to be 74/75, so that may be low compared to some of you. I wish everyone luck and I hope to see you in August!

Just a weird thought that we're going to put faces to the usernames we've been seeing when we meet at orientation lol

I put my face =)

Honestly, I am still in the process of completing the CNA program at SWC. On the application, I just wrote that I am currently enrolled in their CNA program and in the process of getting certified. I'm not sure how much points they gave me for that (if they even did lol). With the complete 25 points for the CNA I have 83, without it I only have 58.. so I'm not sure how they calculated my points.

I know one person who got accepted to SWC last year, but chose Grossmont instead because it's closer to her.

I don't know how to feel about being an alternate as well, but I'm thankful to know that we at least have a chance

If i get into palomar or grossmont I will definitely withdraw from southwestern. Good luck to everyone!

Mine was at 12:17pm as well. And I was like at 79pts.

Thanks for letting us know í ½í²ª hope you get your first choice you already got sdsu your getting in wherever you want to!

When do you find out for grossmont? I know palomar mid April I applied there as well

I think mid april for grossmont as well. Palomar is my first choice as it is the closest to me. And i feel good vibes with palomar lol. Grossmont not so much. But it is still way closer than SWC

Hi everyone! I received the acceptance email today at 88 points. However, I am from the Bay Area so if I am accepted any closer to me, I will definitely give my spot up. Good luck to each and every one of you!

Congratulations!

Where else did you apply to? Your pints are amazing!

Thank you brandyP! I also applied to all CSUs around the Bay Area, as well as some community colleges that I am qualified for. Palomar was another one I applied to that is in the SoCal area. Honestly, I was afraid I would not be accepted because of all the rumors I hear about others applying selectively and not getting in. Therefore, I applied everywhere in CA and willing to move far, i.e. Southwestern College. I was planning to apply to SDSU but did not meet the minimum 80 TEAS mark. I am reaching for a BSN but either way, both schools will still lead me there!

Congratz in being on the alternate list, that means you do have a big chance! I am sure many of us applied to plenty of schools and I hear that most of the time, applicants end up dropping their acceptance because of a better option. For example, I will give away my spot if I get accepted closer to me, will definitely keep you updated. Either way, best of luck to you and I believe you will do great! :)

Hi guys!!! I got my acceptance email yesterday March 8 at 12:17pm.

I had about 81-83 points! Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted!!! I do hope everyone who is waiting gets accepted too!

LOL how do we actually reply to them accepting our spot???
